MinistryHub is honored to partner with Feed the Need in their search for an Area Program Coordinator. Please direct all applications through MinistryHub and any inquiries to hello@ministryhub.org.
You have spent years investing in people through relational ministry. You know how to develop a volunteer leader, how to walk with someone through a hard season, and how to stay present in a community long after the excitement wears off. You find the slow work meaningful. You are not looking for a platform — you are looking for a place where the formation you carry actually multiplies.
Feed the Need Missions has been showing up every week since 2010 — same place, same time, free meal, no strings attached. In small towns and underserved communities across Central Texas, we set up a grill, cook burgers, and build the kind of consistent relationships that most outreach efforts never stay around long enough to create. Guests become volunteers. Volunteers get formed. People find their way back into the life of the local church. Communities that would never walk through a church door begin to change from the inside out. Over 2 million meals served. 32,000+ one-on-one gospel conversations. Fifteen years of showing up.
We are looking for a leader of leaders to carry this work on the ground — someone who understands that the most important thing they can do is develop the people around them. Not someone who runs the ministry. Someone who builds the people who do.
THE ROLE
The Area Program Coordinator is a field-based ministry leader responsible for the health, growth, and sustainability of four weekly sites in an assigned region.
You will develop Site Coordinators, strengthen the Area Missions Council, cultivate church and business partnerships, help raise the area budget, and ensure each site operates with spiritual, relational, and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Program Director and working closely with the Area Missions Council, you will help form the people who carry the mission forward.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Spiritual Formation — Following Jesus
Maintain a healthy, active walk with the Lord and model the mission you are asking others to carry
Share the gospel naturally with guests and equip volunteers to do the same
Protect the integrity of Table Talk, relational evangelism, and site debriefs
Shepherd Site Coordinators and council members through encouragement, honesty, and accountability
Leadership Development — Developing People
Recruit, train, and invest in volunteer Site Coordinators across four weekly sites
Build and strengthen the Area Missions Council and develop leaders within it
Create a culture of ownership, generosity, discipleship, and gospel investment
Cultivate church, business, and community partnerships
Build leadership pipelines that support healthy sites and future ministry growth
Resource Development — Fueling the Ministry
Participate in personal support development, representing approximately 20% of your compensation package
Partner with the Area Missions Council on fundraising strategy and execution
Build relationships with donors, churches, businesses, and ministry partners
Help lead the annual banquet, community initiatives, and other fundraising campaigns
Steward ministry resources with integrity
Ministry Operations — Taking Care of Business
Ensure each site operates consistently and effectively, including setup, teardown, staffing, and serving standards
Monitor site health, identify challenges early, and help implement solutions
Coordinate with the Equipment Coordinator on trailer and gear readiness
Support disaster response deployments and seasonal initiatives such as Gobble Kits
Step into practical needs at the sites when necessary, from cooking and greeting to prayer and setup
FAITH AND CALLING
Feed the Need Missions is a faith-based ministry rooted in the gospel and the conviction that Jesus is the answer to the deepest needs of every person we serve.
We are looking for someone who:
Is a follower of Jesus Christ with an active, growing faith
Fully agrees with the Feed the Need Missions Statement of Faith
Believes sharing the gospel is central to the mission
Is committed to the local church and its role in making disciples
Understands that character and spiritual health matter as much as professional competency
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You are a leader of leaders who finds greater satisfaction in developing others than doing everything yourself. You know how to identify potential, give responsibility, coach people, and help volunteers grow into meaningful leadership.
You have been formed through relational ministry. Whether through campus ministry, adolescent outreach, community ministry, church planting, or a similar setting, you understand that lasting ministry happens through consistent relationships over time.
You move toward people and complexity. When a volunteer struggles or a site loses momentum, you stay engaged, address what is happening, and work toward healthy relationships and solutions.
You are self-directed and operationally capable. You can assess needs, manage logistics, communicate clearly, tow a trailer, and keep multiple sites and relationships moving without requiring close supervision.
You are also comfortable inviting people to invest in the mission. Experience with support development is valuable, but a genuine willingness to learn and build ministry-partner relationships is essential.

Experience overseeing multiple sites, teams, or ministry areas
Fundraising, event campaign, or budget-development experience
Experience working with a volunteer council, board, or advisory team
Disaster relief or crisis-response experience
Familiarity with evangelical church networks, church planting culture, or SBC ministry in Texas
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Position Type: Full-time, salaried field ministry staff
Salary Range: $45,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience
