Summary/Objective:

The Youth Pastor supports the vision, mission and guiding principles of Mount Hebron Church Ministries to be a living representative of Christ on Earth. This objective is to be reached by developing and overseeing programs for our youngest members (Youth ages birth-High school. This position also supervises the work of employees and volunteers who facilitate the Youth programs. The Pastor would also prepare and deliver sermons, counsel with students/ parents and assist the Executive Pastor with overall Congregational needs.

Essential Functions

General:

• Coaches, counsels and manages performance of direct reports

Principal Accountabilities:
• Oversee the spiritual development and social activity for elementary, middle and high school students.
• Create and implement discipleship methods and systems for teaching and developing their relationship with God.
• Provide a creative and compelling atmosphere of worship and relevant teaching that is engaging and transformational.
• Partner with parents to establish strong communication for the application of the discipleship process at home.
• Establish the youth ministry in alignment with the vision and mission of Mount Hebron Church Ministries.
Strategic Focus:
• Lead weekly activities and plan outreach events that help to build community and reach the lost).
• Discipleship/Leadership Training for Youth
• Oversee marketing for the Youth Department as it relates to social media, web content, flyers, etc.
• Recruit and train adult staff and volunteers to mentor and disciple the youth. Raise up students into leadership roles, calling them to deeper levels of devotion.
• Work with Mount Hebron Church Ministries Leadership to help students to get assimilated into the overall church body.
• Parental support to youth parents to help them better disciple their children.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as copiers, computers and phones. During various activities the job may be performed in a school or classroom setting. The Employee will also use sports equipment, computers, video, audio, and sound equipment to aide in these activities.

Physical Demands:
This role requires the employee to be active able to walk, run, bend, stoop, stand and sit. They should be able to participate in sports activities with children. The employee should be able to lift 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position days and hours worked will be based on the needs of the ministry. A minimum of 40 hours will be worked per week.

Required Education and Experience:
• High school diploma
• 4-year college degree preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience with youth (ages birth-high school)
• Mature and Christian Leader with good moral character (1 Tim. 3, Titus 1)
