Job Description:

Discovery Church is a Christ-centered, non-denominational church, we are one church with three campuses located across Orlando, Florida in East Orlando, Winter Garden, and Central Florida.

Discovery Church’s mission is to make disciples of Jesus with the vision of reflecting the Acts 2 church by embracing and practicing the values of the first disciples.

The Family Life and Student ministry teams are focused on creating an environment where all are welcomed and can experience God and learn about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus in a way they will never forget.

We are seeking a High School Student Pastor for the Winter Garden Campus.  This person must have experience in church Student ministry, leadership, coordination, recruiting, training, and managing teams. Must be called to and passionate about Students and ministry. And passionate about partnering with parents in discipling and raising their students. They must be flexible and understand the commitment to working weekends, Christian holidays, and emerging ministry events.

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY OF CONTRIBUTION

To give leadership to the Student Ministries at our Winter Garden Campus, providing relational and pastoral care to kids, families, and volunteers.   

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, develop and implement creative weekly Student Services (Sunday mornings, 9 AM/11 AM, and Midweek - Wednesday night).
• Provide weekly teaching for Winter Garden Campus Student Services. Identify, equip, and empower high-capacity communicators.
• Partner with and give oversight to Winter Garden Middle School pastor
• Cultivate a community where students, parents, and volunteers belong.
• Work within the Discipleship Making strategy of Discovery Church.
• Create a pathway for High School Seniors to Young Adults as well as incoming 6^th-grade students from DC Kids.
• Manage ministry budget.
• Provide ongoing care and leadership to volunteers.  
• Develop meaningful relationships, encourage, and support the DC Student volunteers.
• Manage all workflows to onboard new volunteers.
• Provide training for new volunteers and existing volunteers.
• Partner with parents in discipling and raising their students.
• Build connections and relationships with students. 
• Coordinate all aspects of student events hosted on and off campus. 

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in student ministry leadership. (Ministry over 75 students preferred). 
• Experience in administration, coordination, and event planning.
• Experience in recruiting, training, and managing teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strength in relationship building.
• Strong time management skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED

• Proficient or some experience in Microsoft Products (Office 365)
• Planning Center Online experience preferred.
