Neartown Church exists to invite busy people to experience the peace of life with Jesus Christ. We organize our ministry around three environments: Gather, Connect, and Serve.
The Director of Connect leads our Connect environment, helping adults build meaningful relationships and grow as disciples through our Belong → Surrender → Train → Multiply pathway. This leader strengthens groups, develops spiritual formation leaders, supports men’s and women’s discipleship, and helps newcomers find community.
We’re looking for a spiritually mature leader with pastoral sensitivity, experience discipling adults and developing volunteers, and dependable follow-through. Formal theological training is preferred, ideally graduate-level. We value a desire to invest in urban Houston, ideally living in or near Montrose, Rice Military, or the Heights.
Hours, responsibilities, and compensation will reflect the agreed scope. Sunday participation and some evening ministry are expected.
