Family Ministry Director

The Role

Fort Myers Community Church is looking for a Family Ministry Director to lead FMCC Kids, from babies through elementary school. We want a shepherd who loves kids, equips parents, and helps the next generation know and love Jesus.

The Director's main focus is spiritual formation in a fun, engaging environment. From there, the ministry reaches beyond our walls into local schools and our community.

Spiritual Formation

The heart of this role is forming children in the gospel. Fun matters, but it serves a greater aim. We want kids to leave FMCC knowing who God is, what Jesus has done, and how to follow Him.

• Gospel-Centered Teaching: Choose and shape curriculum that teaches the whole story of Scripture and points every lesson to Jesus.

• Age-Appropriate Pathway: Build a clear discipleship path from the nursery through fifth grade, so each stage prepares kids for the next.

• Equipping Parents: Partner with parents as the primary disciplers of their children. Give them tools to carry Sunday's truth into the home.

• Building the Team: Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers who love kids and love Jesus. Keep safety and child protection policies strong and current.

Fun, Engaging Environments

Kids should love coming to church. The Director creates spaces where children feel safe, known, and excited to return.

• Sunday Experience: Lead Sunday environments that are joyful, well organized, and full of energy.

• Welcome and First Impressions: Make check-in simple and welcoming, so first-time families feel at home from the start.

• Special Events: Plan seasonal events and family gatherings that build community and invite guests.

School Impact and Community Involvement

FMCC Kids does not stop at our doors. The Director helps our church serve the schools and neighborhoods where our families live.

• School Impact: Build relationships with local elementary schools, principals, and teachers. Find practical ways to serve them well.

• Community Involvement: Lead outreach that brings families into contact with the church, such as community events and service projects.

• Open Doors: Help families who meet us in the community take their next step into the life of FMCC.
