POSITION TITLE: WORSHIP MINISTRY RESIDENT

REPORTS TO: PASTOR OF WORSHIP & CONNECTIONS

WORKS CLOSELY WITH:   DIRECTOR OF WORSHIP & PRODUCTION

POSITION PURPOSE: Grace Covenant Church offers a 2-year educational, personal and ministry leadership development program designed for recent college graduates or those who want to explore vocational ministry and grow in ministry skills and wisdom. Residents will develop practical ministry skills, learn and grow their spiritual gifts, and initiate and practice healthy ministry habits.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

•       Work with the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor of Teaching, and Worship Planning Team to plan worship services and song selection that serves the church

•       Serve on the worship team as scheduled across multiple worship environments at Grace, helping to lead or support them as assigned

•       Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, and care of musicians and worship team members, meeting with them regularly

•       Manage worship administration and logistics in Planning Center: service plans, volunteer scheduling and communication, charts and rehearsal resources

•       Plan Worship Team events with the Worship Leadership Team

•       Maintain stage and worship-center readiness, including supplies, equipment organization, and equipment and budget needs

•       Arrive early on Sundays to prepare the worship center and service spaces (including communion), troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with the Production Team on sound, lighting, and media

•       Participate fully in the residency development program — curriculum, assigned reading and training, regular coaching with the Pastor of Worship & Connections, and periodic evaluations and goal-setting

•       Cultivate personal spiritual health and model the mission, values, and culture of Grace Covenant Church

•       Participate in staff meetings and church-wide events

•       Assist the Connections ministry by meeting with new visitors and helping with Explore Grace classes

•       Additional Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

•       Bachelor’s degree

•       Possess a mature, growing faith as a disciple of Christ

•       Articulate a call to full-time ministry

•       Agree with, support, and be willing to teach the Statement of Faith and Position Papers of Grace Covenant Church
