Student Ministry & Summer Camp Director

Position Scope: Elmbrook Church is a non-denominational, intergenerational, multi-site church excited about the life change possible in Christ. Elmbrook’s mission is to help members become Rooted in Jesus Christ and Released to His mission. The Student Ministry & Summer Camp Director has a dual reporting relationship with the Lake Country Campus Pastor and the Family Pastor and has responsibility for the Lake Country student ministry and the summer camp ministry across all campuses. This role collaborates with student ministry, kids ministry and other ministry areas to grow a health and vibrant student and camp ministry at Elmbrook Church.

Responsibilities:

• Cast ministry vision in connection with the mission and vision of Elmbrook Church.
• Develop and nurture relationships with students/campers and their parents.
• Recruit, equip, and build relationships with volunteer/staff leaders in order to create vibrant and effective ministry teams.
• Collaborate with the Elmbrook Student Ministries Team to provide experience-based ministry for students through retreats, camps, and mission/service opportunities.
• Determine and implement the most effective programming in conjunction with Elmbrook Church’s Family Ministry Pastor.
• Provide engaging teaching, worship, and discipleship opportunities.
• Seek regular opportunities to learn and grow in their ministry field.
• Develop and maintain strategies for reaching new students/campers and their families.
• Responsible for the coordination of communication with students, parents, volunteers, and staff.
• Develop and maintain event calendars and volunteer/staff schedules.
• Establish and maintain ministry budgets.
• Collaborate and actively contribute to the following teams: Elmbrook Lake Country Leadership, Elmbrook Student Ministries, Elmbrook Family Ministries, and Camp Vertical Staff Leadership.

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred; two years related experience and/or training; teaching/facilitating experience.

• Demonstrates a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep love for God’s word.
• Active participant or member of Elmbrook church who supports and endorses the statement of faith, core values, and vision.
• Desire to grow, seeking relationships, resources and training to assist in the continuation of personal and professional growth.
• Relationally intuitive and a desire to shepherd well.
• Actively demonstrates servant leadership in attitude and practice.
• Desires to build healthy, positive, and life-giving relationships with other staff.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written, ability to communicate effectively with parents, church leaders, and other corresponding ministries at Elmbrook Church.
• Solid leadership, team building, project management, and strategic decision-making skills.
• Able to build into volunteers and staff, encouraging growth in their gifting.

Reporting Structure: The Student Ministry and Summer Camp Director will be accountable to and report directly to both the Lake Country Campus Pastor and Family Pastor.

Salary & Remuneration: Compensation will be commensurate with educational level and experience.

Paid Time Off (PTO) – Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO. PTO is accrued on a calendar year basis.  Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details. 

403b – Employees are eligible to participate in the 403b pension plan if they are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. The entry date for the 403b plan is the first of the month following the date of hire. On an employee's first anniversary, Elmbrook will match up to 1%.

Holidays – Full-time employees are eligible for holiday pay. Elmbrook Church recognizes ten holidays as paid holidays; refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.
