Renovation Marriage Weekend Intensives

Position: Lead Teaching Couple (multiple openings)

Organization: Renovation Marriage, a nonprofit marriage ministry based in Nashville, Tennessee

Location: Anywhere in the US. You’ll lead weekends in your own region whenever we can make that work.

Commitment: 4 training weekends in 2027, then at least 4 weekends a year

Pay: $1,000 for each training weekend, then $3,000 for each weekend you lead. Travel, lodging, and meals are covered every time.

You know couples whose marriages are in trouble. Maybe they waited until the lobby emptied out after the service, then asked if you had a minute. But they needed more than a minute.

If you’ve been in ministry for long, you’ve sat across from spouses who drifted apart, lost the ability to communicate, and ended up in real trouble. Maybe you prayed with them or handed them a book. If you’re lucky, you connected them with a marriage-focused small group. But you suspected that they needed more.

We would like to give you the weekend those couples need.

Who are we?

Renovation Marriage is a nonprofit, nondenominational evangelical marriage ministry founded by Todd and Erin Stevens. We have led weekend intensives for couples who are hurting, drifting, or quietly wondering whether it’s over. More than 1,000 couples have come through. Our weekends have a 98% success rate, and 99% of couples say they’d recommend one to a friend.

Now we want to train other couples to lead those weekends on their own, in their own part of the country.

What would you actually do?

A Renovation Marriage weekend is nine teaching sessions with a room of about 25 couples. As a lead teaching couple, you’ll:

• Teach all nine sessions together, husband and wife, from a curriculum that’s already written and tested.

• Coordinate with the coach team for the weekend: licensed marriage counselors and trained relationship coaches who know their stuff and are glad to have you steering. They’ll privately coach couples through the SHARE Model, our five-step tool for communicating honestly about a hurt and walking toward forgiveness.

• Lead at least 4 weekends a year. We’ll do our best to schedule them in your region, so you aren’t crossing the country every time.

You don’t need a counseling license. This is coaching, and when a couple needs more than a weekend intensive can give, we refer them to licensed counselors we trust.

How will you learn it?

The same way we’d want to learn it: in the room with real couples.

In 2027, you’ll join Erin and Todd at 4 of our live weekends. At the first one, you’ll mostly watch (and take lots of notes). At each weekend after that, you’ll teach three of the nine sessions yourselves. After that, you’re leading the whole weekend, and we’re the ones sitting in the back row.

For each of those 4 training weekends, you’ll receive a $1,000 stipend, and we cover your travel, lodging, and meals.

Is this you?

We’re looking for pastors and spouses, mostly. Lead pastors, teaching pastors, campus pastors, and retired pastors all fit, and each of you brings something different to the room.

Teaching pastors. You care about people and already know how to create moments that connect, where everyone leans in. This job is mostly that moment, with far fewer staff meetings.

Campus pastors. You’ve spent years taking content someone else wrote and making it land in your room. That’s exactly the skill a weekend needs.

Lead pastors. You’ve probably been carrying every hurting marriage in your church. Here you simply carry one weekend at a time, and somebody else handles the logistics.

Retired pastors. You have decades of wisdom, a marriage that’s weathered a few seasons, and (if we’re being honest) more free weekends than your spouse expected.

What do you need to bring?

• At least one of you has served as a pastor or as a regular teacher in a church.

• Both of you are comfortable teaching in front of a room. This is a job for two: Erin and I teach together, and you will, too.

• You’ve been married at least 10 years.

• You agree with our statement of faith, which you can read at renovationmarriage.com/statement-of-faith.

• You can travel to 4 training weekends in 2027.

What does it pay?

Training: $1,000 stipend for the 4 training weekends

Each weekend you lead: $3,000 stipend

Expenses: Travel, lodging, and meals covered, every weekend

Every stipend is paid to the two of you as a couple. Lead the minimum of 4 weekends a year and that’s $12,000 a year, with every trip paid for.
