Location: Clyde, NC
Position Type: Full-Time, Salaried Exempt
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Supervises: Volunteer ministry leaders and teams

Work Schedule

• Full-time position.

• Regular Sunday and Wednesday responsibilities required.

• Flexible weekday schedule based on ministry needs.

• Regular evening ministry responsibilities, with additional events, camps, and retreats as scheduled.

Position Overview

The Next Gen Pastor provides pastoral leadership and oversight for children’s and student ministries, helping children and teenagers know Jesus, grow in Scripture, be led and transformed by the Holy Spirit, and serve others. This pastor partners with parents and caregivers and develops volunteer leaders to cultivate safe, welcoming, spiritually vibrant ministries.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral leadership, spiritual guidance, and care for children, students, families, and ministry leaders.

• Oversee both children’s and student ministries, directly leading one while equipping and supporting a designated leader for the other.

• Develop biblical teaching, discipleship opportunities, and ministry experiences that help children and students grow in their relationship with Jesus.

• Recruit, train, and equip volunteer leaders while building strong relationships with parents and families.

• Manage ministry operations, including schedules, budgets, communication, and safety procedures, in collaboration with church leadership.

Qualifications

• A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a clear calling to pastoral ministry, and a heart for children, students, and families.

• Agreement with New Covenant Church’s statement of faith, mission, vision, and values, including its Spirit-filled beliefs and practices.

• Previous leadership experience in children’s or student ministry preferred, with a demonstrated ability to teach Scripture and develop leaders.

• Strong communication, organizational, relational, and leadership skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in ministry or a related field preferred; equivalent ministry experience and training will be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $48,000–$60,000, based on experience.

• Health Insurance: 70% employer-paid.

• Retirement: Plan with a 6% employer match.

• Housing Allowance: Eligibility.

• Continuing Education: Assistance covering up to 75% of tuition.

• Paid Time Off: Included.
