Lincolnton Methodist Church, located in Lincolnton, Georgia, is seeking a full-time Director of Worship and Ministerial Support. Affiliated with the Global Methodist Church and rooted in more than 200 years of gospel ministry, the congregation of approximately 125 weekly worshipers is growing and expanding its facilities to serve a community it is deeply committed to reaching. Lincolnton is a close-knit rural community in east-central Georgia, approximately 45 minutes from Augusta and one hour from Athens, with access to Clarks Hill Lake, Elijah Clark State Park, and a strong small-town culture.
This dual-scope role leads all aspects of the church's worship experience and coordinates technology and IT across its ministries.
On the worship side, the Director of Worship and Ministerial Support partners with the Senior Pastor to plan music aligned with weekly sermon themes, directs the choir and praise team in weekly rehearsals, leads congregational worship from the piano or another lead instrument, and recruits and develops a team of volunteer musicians, vocalists, and AV technicians. The role also includes music and worship for special events such as Fifth Quarter and River of Life gatherings, encouraging youth participation in the choir and developing praise band, and overseeing the annual worship and music budget.
On the ministerial support side, this position serves as the church's primary technology liaison, maintaining the website, overseeing presentation software, managing live-stream operations, coordinating the sermon podcast, and training staff and volunteers on AV and technology systems. The candidate will also advise leadership on future technology needs, including planning for the congregation's new Christian Life Center.
Qualifications include a personal, saving faith in Jesus Christ; commitment to Wesleyan-Arminian theology and the doctrine of the Global Methodist Church; a bachelor's degree (completed or in progress); and at least two years of comparable worship leadership experience. Strongly preferred: accomplished piano or keyboard ability; proficiency on guitar or another lead instrument will also be considered. Familiarity with Proclaim, Planning Center, and standard church AV systems is expected.
If you are a passionate worship leader who loves developing musicians, creating meaningful worship experiences, and using technology to advance ministry, we'd love to connect with you!
