About the Organization:

Praise Church began in 1975 as a Charisma Church. Over 43 years, the church has seen the many ways that God has worked in their congregation and been faithful to them, through growth and seasons of provision.

The Praise Christian Center was building 1989, and Reggie, the current Senior Pastor, was in a Youth Pastor and administrative role. His father was pastor in 1989. Reggie became Senior Pastor in 2005, and Praise Church became the current name as it’s known today in 2009.

In 2005, when Reggie became Senior Pastor, the church was about 300 people with a small staff. They asked, “if we can only do one thing well, what will it be?” From there, they leaned into the unique gifts and resources of the church and have grown exponentially to 1000 weekly attendees. Transformation began and continues to happen throughout the church.

Beaumont is located in extreme southeast Texas. Port Arthur is located on Sabine Lake, a body of water deep enough to support ocean shipping and connected to the Gulf by a canal. Beaumont is inland. The area’s destiny changed in 1901 when the first oil well blew in the nearby Spindletop field, and it changed again in September 2005 when Hurricane Rita swept through the area. The 1901 event turned the area from a quiet lumber and port town into a thriving oil and gas economy, with one of the largest concentrations of oil refineries, oil, and petrochemical-related businesses in the state.

With a low cost of living, proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, opportunities for sports, fishing, ocean fun and other recreational pastimes, as well as a revitalized downtown, and a just an hour or so from Houston, Beaumont is a great place to live.
