PURPOSE

To oversee and provide excellence in technical aspects (sound/stage management) of BVBC worship services

 

QUALIFICATIONS

(Personal)

  • Baptized follower of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Aligns with Brandywine Valley Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith and vision
  • Promotes an attitude providing for a collaborative, team-driven environmen
  • A problem-solver
  • Able to think quick on their feet
  • Comfortable interpersonal skills

(Professional)

  • Understanding of and familiarity with contemporary and traditional worship styles
  • Ability to understand complexities of vocal and instrumental arrangements
  • An “ear” for sound quality and blend
  • Technical expertise on sound board operation, specifically digital consoles (our church uses a Yamaha M7CL)
  • Familiarity with digital mixing
  • Experience with leading, training and scheduling a team of volunteers
  • Familiarity with Aviom personal mixes
  • Experience with media and video a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee setting up sanctuary rehearsals
  • Audio lead for sanctuary rehearsals
  • Oversee front of house mix for both Traditional and Contemporary Services and major events throughout the year (such as Christmas concert, Christmas Eve services, Tenebrae, Good Friday)
  • Train prospective and current volunteers for mixing techniques (extra hours available for training)
  • Oversee and coordinate inventory of all sound equipment for the church
  • Maintain, improve and troubleshoot sound systems to ensure optimal sound quality
  • Recruit, schedule and manage teams of volunteers for sound and stage management

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to Worship and Music Director
  • Develops relationships with a/v and stage management team members, musicians, Building Services and pastors
SALARY
 
$15,000 (10 hours/week) + training and seasonal hours
