Job Description:

Worship is central to the life of the Lutheran Church. At Emmanuel Lutheran Church (ELC), worship is rooted in the scriptures and liturgical heritage.  The Holy Spirit calls and gathers the people of God to be nourished by Word and Sacrament and then sends us back out into the world to proclaim the Gospel in word and deed.  Music is of major importance and influence in Emmanuel's worship service.  Music assists assembled believers to identify, express, and share the gift of faith that is within them, and triggers a personal emotional connection that strengthens their commitment to faith in Christ.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church is a dynamic congregation alive with the Holy Spirit.  ELC is seeking a Director of Music to contribute to the congregation's spiritual development, by providing a meaningful worship experience through the use of high quality and diverse music styles.  The Director of Music Ministries needs an appreciation for, and experience in a variety of musical styles to help plan, develop, and carry out traditional, blended, and contemporary worship experience formats.

The Director of Music Ministries is considered to be a vital and integral part of Emmanuel Lutheran Church's ministry and staff.  Our vision for the Director of Music is a partner in leadership who embodies the best of church music in a liturgical tradition.  This partner will be equally passionate about both traditional and modern worship planning, and in directing both to strengthen the worship life of the community and to reach those who do not yet know or know how to sing God's song.  Our congregation loves song and is looking for an energetic leader who can inspire and equip people of all ages and backgrounds to join in the song.
