Job Description:

The part-time Children’s Ministry Director will be the face of the pastoral staff to children and their families. The Director is responsible to oversee children’s ministry across both campuses to ensure a smoothly operating, safe and effective program that provides a firm foundation of faith for kids 0-12. The Director will lead and oversee the children’s ministry staff and provide vision and direction for their ministry. The Director will report to the Executive Pastor and work in collaboration with the student and adult ministries to provide continuity throughout ministries as well as a solid spiritual foundation for children and their families.




  • Ensure relationships are built between the children’s ministry staff, volunteers, children, and their families by shepherding them and helping them develop their own relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of children’s ministry programs including Sunday morning, retreats, camps, service opportunities and special events
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner using all available resources and formats
  • Facilitate training for staff and volunteers
  • Ensure proper screening of children’s workers and leaders before they are placed in ministry.
  • Create an atmosphere of belonging and fellowship where emerging spiritual and leadership skills can be developed
  • Integrate children’s ministry into the life of the congregation so that there is cohesion and connection with the rest of the church
  • Keep records of attendance and participation and provide effective follow up with children and families
