Job Description:

Director of Operations

(Part Time Position)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support FBC (non-pastoral) staff members (Janitorial, Grounds, Treasurer, Music)
  • Regularly looks for ways to improve, initiate, or change processes to ensure the church is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible (in all aspects of the church- staff, ministries, physical campus, outreach), and then create and initiate a plan to put those improvements into place
  • Build fruitful work and ministry relationships with staff
  • Provides regular informal constructive feedback to staff re: areas for improvement  (process improvements and efficiencies)
  • Conducts and documents formal staff performance review to ensure progress and uniformity
  • Coordinate the communication channels (social media, marketing, etc) 
  • Oversee weekly communication duties to the church (i.e. publish bulletin, send out church communication emails, advertise for special events, other responsibilities/tasks deemed necessary by Senior Pastor or Deacon Board)
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with the Pastoral Staff and Deacon Board (quarterly meetings/regular updates), and the entire FBC staff
  • Regularly attend FBC services and support other church programs
  • Responsible for helping overseeing interns
  • Help to recruit, screen, train, utilize, and oversee volunteers
  • Maintain and track church membership and directory
  • Maintain/track facility issues, repair history, insurance, warranties, and upgrade needs and priorities
  • Must be committed to maintaining and operating with the upmost Christian integrity
  • Reports to the Senior Pastor

 

Qualifications:

  • Education Requirements: Bachelors or equivalent experience
  • Prior professional or management experience preferred
  • Software skills preferred (Microsoft Office, Keynote, Outlook)
  • Web design experience preferred
  • Must value the importance of emotional intelligence
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, able to provide feedback effectively, and capable of analyzing a particular process or program and suggesting ways to improve it 
  • Must show initiative and be able to work without constant supervision or direction
  • Must profess to be born again and be able to explain how that process took place in your own life, and how others can receive that free gift as well
  • Must be/become a member of the church and remain in good standing
  • The Director of Operations shall exhibit the ability to cooperate with, relate amicably to, and effectively work with a broad spectrum of personalities within the church and congregation.
  • Must be living a life in accordance with having a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ (there needs to be evidence to others of being a Christian)
  • Must agree with the doctrine and support the FBC Constitution
  • Must look at this position as both a job (responsibility) and as a ministry (service)
  • Must already be involved/have been recently involved  with some other ministry within a church body
  • Must be willing to work well with church staff / congregation and respect the authority of Biblical church leadership
