Job Description:

The Production Director will demonstrate a strong commitment to Jesus Christ while overseeing the maintenance and operation of Audio/Video/Lighting equipment on campus. The Production Director will ensure that services and events across all facilities and ministries can use technology effectively and strategically to enhance the experience of those attending. The Production Director will work closely with the Worship Pastor and the entire Worship Arts ministry and provide Audio/Video/Lighting training and resources to other ministries.




Duties will include but will not be limited to:


1. Manage all AV/L equipment


       A. Oversee the maintenance and operation of all Audio/Video/Lighting equipment on campus.

                      i. Develop detailed knowledge of operation and integration of all equipment

                      ii. Train and equip both staff and volunteers to ensure successful operation of equipment in various areas


       B. Assess future technology needs and work with the Worship Pastor to implement purchase strategies and timelines


       C. Prepare stages for rehearsal and presentation weekly (and as necessary for events)

                      i. Set-up/tear-down/repositioning of equipment

                      ii. Physical patching of lines to console(s)

                      iii. Resets/aiming of lights

                      iv. Patching and pre-programming of consoles

                      v. Manage necessary input lists, stage plots, etc.

                      vi. Work with Worship Pastor to plan and execute stage backdrops for weekend services and special events


2. Manage volunteer teams


       A. Recruit, develop and equip technical teams for events, mid-week and weekend services

                      i. Sound Team

                      ii. Media Teams

                                1. Service Directors

                                2. Equipment Operators

                                            a. Lights

                                            b. Cameras

                                            c. Computer Graphics

                      iii. Stage Backdrop Team


       B. Update transitions and detailed technical notes for all positions on Planning Center for all services and events


       C. Meet regularly with teams to grow, train and cast vision


       D. Oversee the administration of all weekend Tech Arts scheduling


       E. Serve as a Tech Production Manager for weekend services

                      i. Float between Worship Center and other venues, ensuring Tech is synced and operational


3. Serve as liaison between Worship Arts Ministry and other ministries needing technical resources (Audio/Video/Lighting)


       A. Children's/Students Ministry


       B. Event Planning Team


       C. Recovery Ministries


       D. Student Ministries


       E.   Concerts, Community events, etc.


4. Attend Staff Meetings and other Worship Arts Meetings


Skills and Talents


1. The successful candidate must be a Fully Devoted Christ-follower and fully support the ministry of Cornerstone Church | Athens and its leadership team. This individual's commitment to Christ will be evidenced in his/her personal life, family relationships, and ministry. His/her daily walk with God will be an example to others with which he/she interacts.


2. Expert knowledge of audio systems and large-format digital consoles


       A. Knowledge of Allen Heath dLive S7000 series a plus


       B. Familiarity with personal monitoring (i.e. ME1) and digital audio networks (i.e. DANTE)


       C. Ability to train volunteers on operation of equipment


3. Expert knowledge of media in the context of worship services


       A. Detailed knowledge of broadcast video environments

                      i. Broadcast switcher with multiple cameras (IMAG)

                      ii. Keyed computer-graphics (lower thirds)

                      iii. Presentation software (ProPresenter)


       B. Detailed knowledge of projectors, displays and video transmission


       C. Ability to train volunteers on operation of equipment


4. Expert knowledge of lighting in the context of worship services


       A. Knowledge of theatrical, intelligent LED and lighting for video


       B. Familiarity with DMX programming

       C. Familiarity with Chauvet Show Express specifically a plus


       D. Ability to train volunteers on operation of equipment


5. Ideal candidate is highly tech-savvy, able to learn and master new technology quickly and thoroughly


6. Expert knowledge of AVL signal flows and strong ability to troubleshoot in all of these environments


7. Must possess a teachable spirit and collaborate well in a team environment


8. Excellent leadership skills


9. Ability to inspire and motivate teams of volunteers and leaders


10. Extremely strong interpersonal skills


11. Ability to embrace and pursue artistic and spiritual excellence in services

1. Formal training in Audio and/or Technical Production of some kind preferred


2. Must have broad hands-on experience with technology in a modern worship production environment


3.Experience in a Production Director role at a church with 1000+ in weekly attendance preferred


4. Technical experience with multi-site and/or multi-room worship services preferred
