Job Description:

PURPOSE: 

We seek a self-motivated candidate to build young disciples for Christ by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to youth ministry.  The applicant will serve as a spiritual leader and role model by planning, organizing and leading worship, discipleship, mission and related activities for the youth of the church. (in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship and mission) while serving as a spiritual leader and role model.  Additional training in music and proven leadership skills are preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • LEAD CE youth (7th – 12th grade) classes and programs on Sunday mornings, afternoons and/or evenings
  • COORDINATE the planning to ensure Youth/Students experience personal worship and praise through preaching and music activities
  • IMPLEMENT programs and activities to contact and meet youth and families at school and community events, attend school events to develop relationships and trust with students and parents
  • FORM caring relationships with young people and families
  • ENSURE a safe environment for youth in the church and church activities
  • PROVIDE special activities and service opportunities for youth and families
  • MANAGE worship materials for youth, distribution of Bibles, recognition of students and teachers, seasonal events and CE budget
  • COMMUNICATE our youth programs & opportunities to the congregation & community
  • PLAN and ATTEND meetings, events, youth conferences and mission trips
  • DEVELOP and IMPLEMENT web-based presence (web page, Facebook, twitter, Instagram, blog etc) for youth program to communicate and inform youth of activities and program
  • REPORT monthly on all activities (proposed and attended)

DECLARATION OF STATUS: 

Part-time 10-12 hours/week on average, including nights and weekends.  One-year term, two-year term or long-term options available

ACCOUNTABILITY: 

The CWR Youth Pastor is supervised and accountable to the Head Pastor

EVALUATION PROCESS: 

Performance evaluation at 90 days and 6 months and annually thereafter by head of staff
