GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Connections Director is responsible for leading staff and volunteer teams to connect people to Know, Grow, and Go. This person will oversee all components related to delivering extraordinary volunteer and guest service experiences on the weekend and during certain special events at Rock Point Church.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, develop and engage with all volunteers – ensure people are connected through the volunteer programs to serve in their areas of talent and interest;
  • Enhance and oversee the process of assimilation, constantly evaluating effectiveness by tracking important statistics;
  • Lead and encourage the Guest Services Coordinator in accomplishing his/her ministry of creating a welcoming environment on the weekend;
  • Build, develop, and implement an overall volunteer strategy;
  • Create environments that are engaging, interesting and encourage people to get involved and take their next step;
  • Develop volunteer recognition programs that encourage involvement and create ongoing commitment and engagement;
  • Communicate/coordinate with ministries as to volunteer needs they may have;
  • Create and maintain a connections team to greet first time guests and actively get people connected;
  • Oversee events specialist and ensure events are consistent with the weekend experience;
  • Manage weekend experience budget and guest services budget;
  • Ensure Saturday Experience and related quarterly events are consistent and add to the overall weekend experience;
  • Provide updates on connection/assimilation data to lead team; and
  • Participate in weekend experience team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Related ministry experience in a large church (at least 1,000 people) environment.
  • 3 years of experience leading ministry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry related field.
  • Working knowledge of Church Community Builder.
