Summary of Contribution:


The Tech Director is responsible for the overall coordination and development of volunteer teams in the Tech Ministry for the purpose of cultivating environments that leverage technology for weekend services and special events. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

- Lead and build the Tech Ministry by being a highly relational recruiter, trainer, team builder, and visionary innovator involving volunteer teams in all AVL roles for weekend services and special events

- Schedule/Manage/Develop volunteers in aspects of technical arts (camera, switcher, audio, media, video, lighting) for weekend services and special events

- Investigate tech upgrade needs via consultants, and forecast tech improvements as needed to stay as current as possible

- Maintain all tech equipment and keep stage/backstage area organized

- Oversee weekly stage set-up for services and events

- Plan and wisely steward the Tech Team budget in collaboration with the Creative Arts Pastor

- Lead stage change out (design, construct, deploy) throughout the year

- Be a strong contributor to weekly programming/creative team meetings to brainstorm, create, evaluate, and improve the weekend service experience and special events

- Prepare all media assets for services/events (sermon/song slides, videos)

- Collaborate with Creative Arts Pastor and others to oversee shooting/editing of original media content (sermon bumpers, testimony videos, creative pieces, illustrations, song support)

- Oversee sermon and production recordings, reproductions, transfers, uploads, archives and (eventually) streaming

- Cultivate and cast vision to all areas surrounding Pathways Church’s Mission and Values

 

Qualifications, Training and Experience:


- Spiritual maturity and commitment to a life of integrity informed by the Bible  

- Broad hands-on experience with technology in modern worship production environments

- Experience in building teams by enlisting, training, and developing others

- Exudes a contagious positive attitude

- Expertise in live, studio sound, production with digital consoles

- Strong knowledge with Ableton Live, Mainstage

- Solid understanding of lighting designs, consoles

- Strong computer skills proficient with Mac

- Experience in videography by filming and doing video editing as needed

- Experience with stage and scenic design

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

- Team player who can work with the Creative Arts Pastor in developing fresh and impactful services

- Creative thinker with the skills to manage and execute with excellence for weekend services
