TITLE:                           VIDEO PRODUCTION MANAGER            

POSITION TYPE:         FULL TIME – Manager level

COMPENSATION:        Salary plus FT Benefits

REPORTS TO:              Worship & Creative Arts Pastor

 

The Video Production Manager is responsible for the production and development of all video content utilized by LifeAustin across all media and all screens. The Video Prod. Mgr. is responsible for directing our ongoing intent to communicate through the visual media in ways that are relevant, clear, and artistically pleasing. This position can expect to be working on several projects at once, work under strict deadlines, and be an active part of a creative team. The Video Prod. Mgr. will need the ability to effectively develop and pitch ideas, offer creative solutions to problems, and think of innovative ways to reach a desired audience.  The Video Prod. Mgr. is responsible for video projects from concept to completion to delivery. This position will also work closely with and report-to the Technical/Production Director in the video production of Sunday morning service broadcasts. The person who fills this position will deliver excellent video content with creativity and consistency, in order to advance the mission of LifeAustin; to bring transformation to every life through the power of Jesus Christ.

Job Summary

In order to successfully fulfill the role and execute the responsibilities of Video Production Mgr. the ideal candidate will:

  • Serve as the church’s key contact for all video needs
  • Produce weekly “lifenews” announcement segments for each campus (write, schedule, setup, shoot, edit, deliver)
  • Create video podcasts, sermon support videos, social media videos, vision casting videos, transformation stories, and other creative elements to advance the story of God’s work at LifeAustin & Life Family through video
  • Oversee all facets of video content support in each venue and on every campus
  • Manage all aspects of video field-production equipment, including budget development
  • Develop and maintain positive, supportive relationships with volunteers and staff
  • Complement Creative Arts Pastor and Tech/Prod Dir. in implementation of technical vision (assist in all technical areas across all Campuses as needed)

  • Knowledge and experience withStudio, DSLR, and Cinema grade cameras
  • Knowledge of video formats, resolutions and codecs.
  • Experience with ProPresenter, PVS, Resolume, and other video playback applications
  • Studio & Field Production Expertise
  • Audio Post-Production Experience
  • Ability to create and/or edit computer-generated graphics (or modify templates)
  • Mastery of a Video Post-Production software system
  • Demonstrate familiarity & functional skills with other current software including:
    • Final Cut Pro X & Motion
    • Adobe Premiere
    • Adobe After Effects
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Illustrator

Requirements

 

  • Meet all LifeAustin employee qualifications – Be an active, participating member of LifeAustin Church, maintaining a lifestyle of prayer, fasting, and personal growth in Christ, and recognizing the calling of serving on our staff as a glorious opportunity to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and the church.
  • Bachelor's degree in TV, Film, Fine Arts or related area AND two-four years’ experience operating video cameras and editing equipment; OR, Five-ten years’ experience operating video cameras and editing equipment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Expertise in post-production technologies & software suites
  • Field Video production expertise (lighting, sound, camera, etc.)
  • Video Editing expertise

 

 

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity and experience with a variety of software applications, such as:  the MS Office suite of applications – Word, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel.  Proficiency with Apple email and MS Outlook. Familiar with Apple Suite of Office Products including Keynote. Knowledge of basic operations of databases. Church Community Builder experience a plus.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and problem-solving skills – Ability to verbally communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels.
  • Ability to build a team and provide strong leadership.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relational connections with congregation, staff and new members.

Evaluation Method:

 

  • Annual ministry effectiveness review
  • Weekly mtgs. with Worship & Creative Arts Pastor
  • Quarterly progress meeting with Associate Pastor and/or Leadership Team
