Job Description:

FBC Children’s Church Director

(Proposed Salary: $100 per week/$5,200 per year)

 


Responsibilities:

  • Teach the Kindergarten through 4th Grade group 26 weeks per year and lead the worship and activity/craft time of both the K-4th Grade group and preschool group during those same weeks
  • Plan and oversee the curriculum, scheduling, and supplies associated with the needs of FBC Children’s Church
  • Organize, recruit, and train volunteers as needed (pre-K teaching)
  • Provide support when needed for the policy of student discipline and to address any parent or church member concern
  • Oversee the secure drop-off/pick up of all children during specified weeks
  • Observe the Assistant Director’s teaching at least 2x per year
  • Plan, co-lead, and prepare marketing materials for FBC annual children’s events: VBS, Fall Festival, and Spring Children’s Event
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with Assistant Director and with Pastoral Staff and deacon board (quarterly meetings/regular updates) 
  • Plan and implement ways to build connections among the children and families connected with FBC Children’s Church and seek new ways to reach the unchurched children in the community
  • Regularly attend FBC services and support other church programs

 

Qualifications:

  • Must profess to be born again and be able to explain how that process took place in your own life, and how others can receive that free gift as well
  • Must be/become a member of the church and remain in good standing
  • Must be living a life in accordance with having a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ (there needs to be evidence to others of being a Christian)
  • Must agree with everything contained in the FBC Constitution
  • Must look at this position as both a job (responsibility) and as a ministry (service)
  • Must already be involved with some other ministry within the church body
  • Must be willing to work well with co-teachers and respect the authority of Biblical church leadership
