ROLE SUMMARY:
The purpose of the Children’s Ministry Director is to oversee, facilitate, and further the discipleship of kids and families of The Bridge Church through children’s ministry programs (Infant-5th Grade). The Children’s Ministry Director will be responsible for creating and maintaining a children’s ministry environment that is fun, comfortable, safe, and engaging, with an emphasis on compelling and effective teaching of the gospel and foundational truth from God’s Word.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fulfill the obligations of a covenant member as outlined in The Bridge Church Membership Covenant
  • Fulfill the character qualification of a Deacon as taught by Scripture
  • Philosophical alignment with Bridge Church leadership, including areas of secondary doctrine
  • Passion and skill for discipleship and leadership development

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Personable, welcoming, and knowledgeable about The Bridge Church
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with an ability to learn new software and adapt to changing technology
  • Basic gifts in administration and organization
  • Ability to effectively teach both children and parents
  • Dependable, flexible, humble, and a good sense of humor
  • Able to keep information confidential; completely avoids gossip
  • Servant attitude; willing to do any job

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a vision for children’s ministry that aligns with Bridge Church values, priorities, and vision
  • Oversee a network of volunteers, including recruitment, training, resourcing, and scheduling
  • Oversee Sunday morning children’s ministry environments, including check-in/check-out, classrooms, and volunteers
  • Prepare and manage curriculum for preschool and school-age classes
  • Maintain good records of child/parent personal and contact information, attendance, and other information as needed
  • Purchase and maintain children’s ministry equipment and supplies
  • Facilitate additional midweek events (3-5 per year) that provide connection, community, resourcing, and/or discipleship for families both inside and outside the church
  • Develop and provide ongoing digital and print resources for families that encourage and foster regular in-home discipleship

SCHEDULE & HOURS

  • 20-30 hours per week
  • Sundays and Monday mandatory; remaining days/hours are flexible
  • In-office hours must be generally consistent week-to-week
