West Texas Area
West Texas is a uniquely Texan landscape – you can see for miles, and the weather can range from desert heat to snowstorms. It is also characterized by rich history, lucrative farmland and ranchland, and down-to-earth citizens. Major industries include livestock,
petroleum and natural gas production, textiles like cotton and grain, and large military installations like Fort Bliss, the defense industry. It’s also become well known for its advances in the production of alternative electricity using wind turbines.
Regional college sports teams are championed in West Texas, including the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and the UTEP Miners. El Paso and Midland both have AAA and AA baseball teams, respectively.
The soon-to-be launched campus of Trinity Fellowship Church will most likely be in the West Texas triangle of Lubbock-Midland-Abilene.
