Job Description:

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about loving and following Jesus Christ and who is called, gifted, and effective at loving and leading children from birth to 5th grade. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, teachable, team-oriented, and relational.

  • Lead the children's ministry team in creating, developing, implementing, and maintaining an ongoing ministry for children from birth to 5th grade
  • Recruit, equip and support volunteer leaders for all aspects of children’s ministry
  • Maintain regular communication with parents of children about all aspects of children’s ministry
  • Develop an annual strategic ministry plan
  • Oversee and administer the children’s ministry budget
  • Create and maintain a calendar of events and activities including but not limited to:

             ~      Sunday school

             ~      Pre-school worship experience on Sunday mornings

             ~      Elementary age worship experience on Sunday mornings

             ~      High energy outreach program for elementary age children on Wednesday nights

             ~      Loving and spiritually nourishing environment for pre-school children on Wednesday nights

  • Provide pastoral care to children and their families, including hospital visitation when appropriate
  • Help develop and enforce policies and procedures pertinent to children’s ministry and safety
  • Work with youth pastor in transitioning 5th graders into youth ministry
  • Create and maintain a fun, safe, clean and appropriate ministry environment for all ministry activities and events involving children.
  • Monitor the coordination and need of equipment and facilities related to any children’s ministry needs
