Position: Pastor: North Campus Kid’s Pastor/Minister

 

Classification: Pastoral

Hours: Part-time, salaried

Ages: Birth-6th Grade

Supervisor: Campus Pastor and Central Kids Pastor

 

Essential Qualifications for Ministerial Staff

  • Must be a dedicated Christian of Southern Baptist faith.
  • Must have a calling from God to serve in ministry
  • Must be willing to become a member of Forest Park Baptist Church.
  • Must show capabilities to plan, organize, schedule, delegate responsibilities, demonstrate wise stewardship, and implement the total church vision, strategy, and values.
  • Personality characteristics should include the following: honesty, tactfulness, integrity, courtesy, cooperation, confidence, friendliness, enthusiasm, optimism, cheerfulness, loyalty, sense of humor.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must demonstrate leadership capabilities in area of ministry.
  • Willingness to serve with team approach to ministry. 

Principal Function: To strengthen Forest Park spiritually and numerically by helping people take their next step toward God. 

Primary Duty:  To train, encourage, and grow staff and volunteers for the building up of the body of Christ. Ref. Eph. 4:11-13

 

Expectations of Forest Park Pastoral Staff

  • Provide leadership to assigned areas in the staff organizational chart.
  • Recruit, train, guide, and evaluate paid and/or volunteer workers in your area of ministry.
  • Coordinate the effective use of equipment and resources within area of ministry.
  • Administer programs within the limits of the budget and follow church financial procedures.
  • Build spiritual maturity in the lives of the volunteers and staff with whom you work.
  • Set appropriate goals for your ministry and lead in the achieving of those goals. 
  • Regular devotions and Bible study
  • Staff meeting attendance
  • Consistent communication with your supervisor and those you lead
  • Continuing education opportunities
  • Attend no less than one worship service every weekend
  • Tithing (10% or more to Forest Park)
  • Engage in Forest Park's evangelism strategy.
  • Loyalty to Forest Park and the church vision and ministry
  • Live out Forest Park's Code and Staff Behavioral Values

Specific Duties

 

Summary

The Kid’s Pastor/Minister is the individual responsible for the leadership and execution of the vision for kid’s ministry as set forth by the Lead Team and Central Team of Forest Park. The primary responsibilities include recruiting, leading and developing a team of volunteers. The primary strategy to execute these responsibilities will be through building relationships with children and their parents.

 

Position Profile

 

1. The Kid’s Pastor/Minister is responsible for the successful execution of the weekend Kid City worship experiences.

                     a. Identifying volunteer leaders and bringing them into the ministry, following all protocol required to insure safety and appropriate training and orientation.
                     b. Connecting with families who are new to the church.
                     c. Overseeing all ministry areas within Kid City to insure that all programming is executed well.
                     d. Cast vision to parents regarding the resources that are available for their use as well as the take-home materials that are sent from Kid City ministry for the                            purpose of equipping parents with tools to lead their kids in biblical conversation and challenges at home.
                     e. Recruit, inspire, and equip volunteer Team Leaders at North campus to execute our vision for FP Kids with excellence.

         

2. The Kid’s Pastor/Minister is responsible for the successful execution of the weekly AWANA program.

         

                     a. Identifying volunteer leaders and bringing them into the ministry, following all protocol required to insure safety and appropriate training and orientation.

                     b. Overseeing all ministry areas within AWANA to insure that all programming is executed well.

                     c. Cast vision to parents regarding the resources that are available for their use as well as the take-home materials that are sent from the AWANA ministry for                            the purpose of equipping parents with tools to lead their kids in biblical conversation and challenges at home.

         

3. The Kid’s Pastor/Minister is expected to provide upper level leadership on the campus as a whole.

 

                     a. Work with the campus staff to host Child Dedications each year. This includes hosting a parent gathering to encourage parents as the primary spiritual                                     leaders in the lives of their children and inform them about opportunities at the campus to grow as parents-Life Groups, etc

                     b. Occasionally support the Campus Pastor by doing the weekend stage time.

                     c. Play a significant role in the leadership and execution of campus wide activities.

                     d. Provide Pastoral care to families and attenders of the church.

                     e. Preparing and manage a budget for the campus kid’s ministry.

         

4.The Kid’s Pastor/Minister is expected to work alongside the Central Kids Pastor and Carthage Kid’s Pastor/Minister

 

                     a. Aligning ministries such as VBS, Parent/Child dedications, Impact serving events,  Camp, curriculum, etc.

                     b. Meet weekly with Central Kids Pastor and Carthage Kids Pastor/Minister to review and evaluate current and future ministry activities.
