Job Description:


DC Church is looking for a Part-Time Worship Technology Assistant (WTA) who is a talented, hard-working team player that takes direction well. Primary strengths MUST INCLUDE live “front of house” audio mixing, stage lighting knowledge and AVL equipment maintenance and organization. The WTA will work closely with the Media Director on the design, preparation and maintenance of both DC Church Campuses (Deep Creek Baptist Campus in Chesapeake, VA and the West Portsmouth Campus in Portsmouth, VA). The WTA will also coordinate with the Assistant Worship Pastor at the West Portsmouth Campus (WPC), oversee weekly evening rehearsals at WPC and lead the Sound, Light and Media team volunteers during the Sunday morning service.



• Run live audio, lights and video sermons for all regularly scheduled Sunday morning worship gatherings at WPC

• Lead lighting and media volunteers on Sunday mornings

• Assist Media Director and Worship Pastors with creating visually engaging stage environments for sermon series

• Run sound and lights special events and concerts

• A/V support for both campuses including sound systems, lights, projection systems and TV's

• Equipment Maintenance (Responsible for all A/V equipment at West Portsmouth Campus)

• Assist with preparing ProPresenter playlists and screen graphics for Sunday morning worship at WPC

• Attend weekly planning meeting with Media Director

• Help with production of promotional videos/projects

• Other duties as assigned



• Kingdom-minded follower of Christ

• Working knowledge of analog and digital mixing and recording

• Proficient with AVIOM personal mixers and loudspeaker equipment

• Proficient with video playback, recording, switching and distribution equipment

• Proficient with headset and microphone care and maintenance

• Proficient with video monitor and projection equipment

• Proficient in Macintosh based computer systems

• Proficient in ProPresenter

• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, Photoshop)

• Great organizational skills with an attention for detail

• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure

• Excellent team player with a willingness to learn

• Capable of working within a team setting under direct supervision

• Problem solver who can troubleshoot technical issues

• Strong technical and communication skills



• Preferably a Bachelor's Degree in a related field

• 1-5 years Experience in related field

• Experience working as Front of House audio engineer

• Maintains working knowledge of A/V best practices and industry standards


PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT  (20 hours per week)

- Sundays (4.5hrs)

- Weeknight Rehearsal (2.5hrs)

- Working M-Th (13hrs)

- Flexibility to run technology for after hours/weekend events
