Office Manager, a full-time, benefitted, non-exempt position.


Greater Portland Bible Church ( is seeking a multi-talented individual to fill the role of Office Manager. The core responsibilities of this position include: oversight of as many as five support staff; executive assistant to the Lead Pastor; clerical support to the pastoral staff and ministry departments; management of HR policies and procedures; attendance at and recording the minutes of all regular staff and elder meetings; management of employee payroll, the vacation calendar, church data bases, and church-wide communication; back up to the receptionist and bookkeeper as needed.


The successful person in this role will be emotionally healthy, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication effectiveness, the ability to multi-task, patience, flexibility, and confidentiality. She/he will be comfortable in the use of computers, be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher), have some experience with graphic design, and be familiar with standard office equipment. The Office Manager is expected to be in agreement with the church’s statement of faith and its purpose statement: Helping people follow Jesus together.
