    means they don’t see this position as a stepping stone for ministry.

Job Description


The Family Ministry position oversees children from infants to teenagers. Our desire is for the Family Ministry Director to have a heart to equip parents, teens, and children through the local church. We desire faithful ministry that focuses on discipling both students and parents. The Family Ministry Director is to equip parents and teach the children/teens in innovative ways. This means we are looking for someone who has the gift of teaching and is passionate to build relationship with families within the church and the local community.

 

This person will also build a team, which requires the recruitment, development, and supporting volunteers to support the ministry.

4. We have a plurality of Elders/Pastors to lead and guide the Church.

Job Scope

The Family Director would oversee the following areas:

  •   Children’s Ministry (Birth - Fifth grade, year round)

  •   Student Ministry (6th-12th grade, year round)

  •   Engaging and Equipping parents from the Church in the Family Ministry.

  •   Routine Childrens & Student Ministry Events

  •   Building relationships with the Children, Teens, and Parents both inside and outside of the church, through events, outreach, small groups, etc.

     

Specific Duties and Responsibilities



Set the Family Ministry vision and plan to carry it out in alignment with the Family Church mission by glorifying God by making disciples.

 
  •   Develop and lead programs according to the vision for student and family ministry.

  •   Recruit and train volunteer leaders to fulfill the desire for effective family ministry

  •   Build and maintain relationships with children, students, and parents inside and outside the church.

  •   Manage the Family Ministry budget.

  •   Involve children & teens in the ministry of the church by supporting and participating in the church mission trips, worship services, and opportunities to serve.

  •   Attend scheduled staff meetings when needed.

  •   Provide regular updates to the other the Pastors of goals, accomplishments, prayers and praises.

  •   Important to get parents involved and active in the Family Ministry program.

The following are additional expectations that we place upon all of our church pastors, elders, & leaders here at Family Church.
  1. Pursue becoming certified in Biblical Counseling (such as through ACBC)

  2. Seek to go through the process of ordination at our church after a period of ministry to join our Pastoral Leadership Team.

  3. Read Often.

Requirements

  •   Positive, teachable, can-do attitude and excited about working in a team environment with other staff and volunteers.

  •   Maturity to handle confidential information with care.

  •   Self starter - highly motivated.

  •   Someone who can lead and inspire others to follow them.

4. Staff development budget available for personal growth, books, and resources. This would also include that you attend a yearly conference that is specific to your ministry areas that would refuel and bless you.
5. 403B with matching contributions up to 5%

 

Work Schedule:

It is generally understood that this salaried position will require approximately 45+ hours per week with two Sundays off per year. The work schedule shall be coordinated with the Pastoral leadership of the church.
