Student Worship Leader
Regular: Full-Time Position
Reports To: Director of Worship
New Walk Church in Zephyrhills, FL (greater Tampa Bay area) launched in 2006 as a church plant, meeting in a YMCA. Since then, we have experienced sustained growth and witnessed incredible life change. Today, we consistently serve 2000+ people every weekend.
Our 11-year history includes over 5000 people beginning a relationship with Christ their Savior and over 1200 baptized! In the summer of 2015 we moved into our brand new, state of the art, permanent worship facility, where we continue to partner with God
in “Unleashing new purpose in every life through Jesus Christ.” Additional information is available at www.newwalk.church
We are seeking candidates for the role of Student Ministry Worship Leader. We are looking for someone to give musical and spiritual leadership and nurture to our AMPED Worship Team as well as lead worship each week at AMPED (our student ministry night each
Wednesday evening). This role reports to the Director of Worship and will work closely with our Student Pastor to create and execute exciting, hope-filled, intimate worship sets each week. Our goal is to raise up student singers and musicians who develop
their musical talent as well as deepen their walk of faith as they serve on the AMPED worship team.
In addition to musical skills and leadership gifts the right person will also possess the desire to be a spiritual mentor and coach--one who leads by example, who cultivates a positive spirit throughout the church family, and who represents Christ and His
church well in the community at large.
STUDENT WORSHIP DIRECTOR ROLE AND JOB SUMMARY:
The Student Worship Director will give musical and spiritual leadership and nurture to our AMPED Worship Team as well as lead worship each week at AMPED (our student ministry night each Wednesday evening). This role reports to the Director of Worship and
will work closely with our Student Pastor to create and execute exciting, hope-filled, intimate worship sets each week. Our goal is to raise up student singers and musicians who develop their musical talent as well as deepen their walk of faith as they serve

1.) Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, growing in faith and modeling the principles and disciplines of Christian life and stewardship: Godly character, moral purity, tithing and a growing spiritual maturity achieved through Bible study, active
prayer, personal worship, and fellowship.
Note: Any conduct unbecoming of a Christian or that otherwise might be damaging to New Walk’s ministry, will be grounds for immediate termination.
2.) Be a partner of Amped Student Ministry and New Walk Church, supporting (and as necessary defending) our theological framework, vision, mission, and leadership —firmly believing that the local church is the only hope for the world.
3.) Establish and maintain a positive working rapport with the Director of Worship, Student Pastor, AMPED Team
Members, and our entire Pastoral Staff, noting the elevated value New Walk places on relational chemistry and a team-player attitude. Any and all personal issues with any of the aforementioned leaders should be communicated as soon as possible to the individuals
involved. We have an open-door policy at New Walk.
4.) We expect the Student Worship Leader to connect with students prior to Amped and after the services. The students look up to you and so it is important to connect and invest in them whenever possible.
5.) We expect the Student Worship Leader to pastor his team consisting of the musician’s and vocalists on the AMPED stage. This is more than simply coaching them musically. It is nurturing them spiritually in their young faith, helping them to become
growing and maturing followers of Christ.
6.) We expect an energetic presence on stage with strong interaction with the students during worship.
7.) Be eager to offer creative ideas and take interest in Amped student ministry as a whole.
8.) Be present and prompt for all call times. Any absences require prior approval by the Director of Worship and assurances that any potential gaps in your ministry area are adequately covered.
9.) Be well prepared, in advance, for your best personal performance in every setting and situation required of you whether leading, teaching, presenting, or facilitating.
10.) Attendance at all Amped leadership meetings is mandatory.
11.) Collaborate with Student Pastor and Director of Worship to plan in advance all set lists and creative elements. This includes finding closing songs to fit the messages being delivered.
12.) Student Worship Leader must commit to missing no more than 8 Amped services per year.
13.) Student Worship Leader must commit to promote Amped services weekly on social media.
1.) Collaborate with the Student Pastor weekly to design the Amped worship experience.
2.) Communicate all aspects of service to musicians ASAP. This includes, but is not limited to, listing all details on Planning Center.
3.) Lead sound check and rehearsal prior to service.
4.) Ensure backing tracks, bgv tracks and rehearsal tracks are prepared for each song.
5.) During rehearsal listen and evaluate what is being played by the team. Insure that parts are being played/sung correctly and that the appropriate sounds are being used. Always use life giving words when correcting a team member.
6.) Audition, train and develop vocalists and musicians for Amped. Proficiency, Harmony, pitch and stage presence should be the focus of development.
7.) Oversee, hold accountable, be responsive to and encourage all Amped Worship Team members.
8.) Support the weekend worship team in whatever roll is needed each weekend. This could be playing an instrument, leading vocally etc..
