Job Description:

Cypress Church is committed to leading people to Christ and providing steps to follow Him.  We are a multi-site church with three physical locations in the greater Columbus areas.  Plans are already in motion to launch our fourth and fifth campuses in the next 12-24 months.  We are seeking a talented team member to join our staff as the Alton Darby Campus Pastor.  Alton Darby is our broadcast campus with weekend attendance of 3000 people.

Columbus is the 15th largest city in the nation and is home to The Ohio State University, the 3rd biggest university in the country.  The city and surrounding neighborhoods are growing and vibrant.  Columbus has an eclectic culture, offering incredible art, music, food, and sporting events to visitors and residents.

  • Lead the charge and oversee all the ministries at the Alton Darby Campus including kids, students, and adult ministries
  • Grow ministry engagement at the Alton Darby campus through serving initiatives and small groups participation.  These are two of our big three (Worship, Groups, Serve)
  • Supervise, coach, and work with key Ministry Directors in order to accomplish the mission and vision of Cypress. Such ministries include, but are not limited to:  Kids, Students, Hospitality, Small Groups, Prayer, Care, Sports and Outreach
  • Develop a healthy leadership structure by recruiting and raising up key volunteer leaders who will oversee ministry areas
  • Work with your direct reports to equip them to build teams of ministry volunteers who will carry out the ministry of the church
  • Participate in teaching as requested for leadership gatherings, video resources, membership classes, volunteer trainings and weekend services (based on gifting and ability)
  • Lead the assimilation process (First Steps) and spiritual growth process (Next Steps)
  • Actively manage Cypress mid-week resources that ministry directors create and push out to attenders in order to connect church and home
  • Provide vision, support, and leadership to the campus staff/volunteers
  • Oversight of ministry department budgets
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 5+ years of full time ministry experience
  • Supervisor/Management level experience
  • Proven track record of ministry growth
  • Multi-site experience preferred
  • Experience leading kids, students, and/or discipleship ministries preferred
  • Experience leading in a large church environment (2000+) preferred
