About the Organization:

The Parish is a fresh expression of the local church, a community that is dedicated to growing in Christ and practicing His way of life. They are rooted in the rich history and tradition of the Anglican Church. Including over 80-million members worldwide, the Anglican Church is patterned after the faith and practice of the first century church. The church’s liturgy (worship structure) strikes a unique balance between the tradition of the ancient Church, the theology of the Reformation, and the present work of the Holy Spirit.

Eddie Kirkland leads the ministry of The Parish as its Lead Pastor. He most recently served for five years on staff at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, GA, and offers both visionary and strategic leadership to the staff and congregation of The Parish.

In August of 2013, the launch team met to pray about starting a new church, and in January of 2014, The Parish was born, holding monthly evening gatherings. By August of the following year, they were meeting every week on Sunday mornings with full family ministry offerings. The Parish has since expanded to two services on Sundays in 2016 and launched Daily Practices and Practice Groups for the church community this summer. They continue to grow as God moves in their congregation. At The Parish, they are all about knowing, loving, and following Jesus. Their beliefs, based in the creeds, are simple, and the church is thoughtfully focused on being a “presence-driven” church.

The role of an effective Executive Pastor is threefold: love Jesus, serve the church, and partner joyfully with the Lead Pastor.

The Executive Pastor oversees other church staff and key lay leaders and manages the day-to-day operations of the church. He partners joyfully with the Lead Pastor in such a way that complements the Lead Pastor’s weaknesses, allowing both to work more fully within their respective strengths.

The Executive Pastor is not a successor or a Lead-Pastor-in-training. He enjoys leading from the second chair and leading primarily from behind the scenes.

An undergraduate degree is required. A seminary degree and Anglican background and knowledge would be a plus. 

Experience & Skills: 

5 years of experience or more would be a plus. Competency and experience in a leadership role is vital to this position.

Named the #1 best place to move and the 7th friendliest town in the U.S. by Forbes magazine, Alpharetta is located between the vibrant, international city of Atlanta and the majestic North Georgia Mountains.
