Job Description:

Davisville Church is seeking a youth pastor to influence our students toward Jesus.  We have a strong history of successful and meaningful youth ministry in our area.  Our church and youth ministry desire to live out a balance of loving each other like family, pursuing Jesus passionately, and being on mission with God. Our prayer is that the next youth pastor will lead our students well in these three areas for the glory of God and their benefit. He will become part of a fun loving and committed team of employees that strive to make disciples in our community.  The job requires a humble heart, teachable spirit, dependency on God and willingness to work hard. He will be mentored by the Ministry Pastor whose goal is to fan into flame his abilities, understanding and heart for leading the youth ministry.  Currently, Davisville Church averages 70 students in its youth ministry.  On a personal note, within a two-hour travel distance of the church, you can swim in the ocean, hike or ski the Pocono mountains, and visit three major cities (Philadelphia, New York City and Baltimore).  We hope you’ll join us!

Youth Pastor: Job Description

Davisville Church is looking to hire a youth pastor that will lead students to follow Christ.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and meet with the Ministry Pastor regularly

  • Provide ministry vision, direction and supervision for grades 6-12 (up, in, out)

  • Recruit and develop a volunteer staff to assist in the work of youth ministry

  • Be the primary teacher in the youth ministry while developing others to teach

  • Plan and execute events

  • Delegate responsibilities as needed to multiply leadership and effectiveness

  • Develop and implement a plan for championing parents as the primary shepherds in a child’s life

  • Work with the Family Life Team (Children’s Director, Young Adults Coordinator, and Ministry Pastor) to provide a plan for leading children age Kindergarten-College Graduate toward maturity in Christ.

  • Take ownership and care of the Activity Center in coordination with the Facility Manager

  • Submit an annual budget for the youth ministry and oversee its finances

Core Attributes, Competencies and Skills:

  • Required: Understanding of youth culture; ability to develop relationships with students, volunteer staff and parents; well organized; clearly and consistently communicate ministry details; demonstrable ability/passion to develop and lead others; ability to dynamically preach God’s word; commitment to a team approach in leadership; ability to have honest conversations with others for their benefit and ministry effectiveness; at least a Bachelor’s degree in Bible, Ministry or Theology; a teachable spirit; if married, have a spouse who supports their ministry.

  • Desired: 3+ years experience leading youth ministry, ability to lead worship, basic understanding of technology (AVL)

  • Passionate follower of Jesus who will seek to live a balance of Up, In and Out

  • Desires to honor God and bring Him glory through the work of the ministry

  • Will seek to influence people toward Jesus

Employment Status: Full-time: Sunday – Thursday (two evenings required, some weekends necessary)
