Director of Women’s Ministry – Wayne, Pennsylvania


Church of the Saviour is a non-denominational Christ-centered church of approximately 1,500 people in the Philadelphia suburb of Wayne, Pennsylvania. The Director of Women’s Ministry has a heart for seeing all women mature as disciples of Christ and is responsible for the vision and strategic leadership of the Women’s Ministry towards that end.  The Director ensures this large and multi-faceted ministry supports the church-wide discipleship model: encouraging and empowering women to love God, love others, get equipped and serve the world. A leader of leaders, the Director recruits, oversees and equips a diverse and committed cadre of volunteers.


The position will report directly to the Executive Pastor of Ministries and collaborates closely with relevant ministry and operations staff.  The Director of Women’s Ministry role is expected to require 45-55 hours per week, and will include, but is not limited to, the following essential job functions:


Primary Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute a vision for developing women as disciples of Christ as part of the overall vision and mission of the church
  • Create a multiplying ministry that not only connects women with each other but equips and emboldens them to serve Christ in the ways He calls them
  • Foster a culture of unity, clarity and focus, discerning and identifying the most urgent discipleship needs of women in the COS community and beyond and actively avoiding activities that do not contribute to the overall mission of the church
  • Ensure the ministry is effective in reaching and addressing the needs of nonbelievers, presenting the truth of the Gospel and connecting seekers with relevant resources and guidance
  • Recruit, develop and manage volunteer leaders and teams to help extend the reach of the ministry

o   Identify and nurture new leaders

o   Coach, train and support all leaders

o   Foster a Christ-centered, prayer-dependent, missional culture among leaders at all levels

  • Proactively coordinate with relevant peer ministries (e.g., Care, Children, Youth)
  • Manage the Women’s Ministry online presence and communications
  • Oversee all administrative components of ministry operations (e.g., finances, calendar, curriculum, facilities needs, internal communications)
  • Fostering opportunities for multi-generationalministry
  • Perform other duties as needed

  • A personal and maturing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
  • Experience in a relevant field either as a staff member or an accomplished volunteer with increasing responsibility preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree, required; formal biblical training, preferred
  • Demonstrated passion for sharing Christ with women of all ages with a proven ability to communicate with both the churched and un-churched 
  • Prior experience leading and developing volunteer leaders
  • Microsoft office suite proficiency
  • Experience/Skill working in an emerging multicultural environment
  • Agreement with all aspects of Church of the Saviour’s Statement of Faith
  • An ability and readiness to be a member of Church of the Saviour
