Hillside Fellowship was launched in 1993 by four families that met as a small group of a local church in San Antonio. Our mission is to worship God by proclaiming Jesus and making disciples. We are a growing multigenerational congregation of 1500 in Sunday morning attendance with many attending from the areas of North San Antonio and New Braunfels. We are led by the belief that Jesus changes everything and have an exponential vision to maximize the impact of the church in the surrounding communities.

Role Summary:

We are looking for a full-time AVL Coordinator to work as a part of our Worsip team. The AVL Coordinator will provide leadership over the audio, video, and lighting systems of the church, and will serve as the team leader for the AVL volunteers. The AVL Coordinator will work closely with the Worship Pastor in the planning, directing, and execution of the weekend service program. 


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must embody the core values of the church and exhibit the fruit of the Holy Spirit as outlined in Galatians 5:22-23.
  • Must have a minimum of three years of technical experience with a focus in AVL or a related discipline. Five years of experience within a church setting is preferred.
  • Must have experience working with AVL systems, including various audio equipment and consoles, speaker systems, video projection equipment, ProPresenter and Livestream software, lighting consoles, video production equipment, and music recording equipment.
  • Possess an undergraduate degree or professional certification in an AVL field, or have equivalent experience.
  • Must have an ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and execute in a leadership capacity.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, work ethic, and ability to function as a servant-leader.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to all of the church’s AVL systems in a way that advances the mission and vision of the church. These systems include, but are not limited to, audio, video/media projection, video production, stage lighting, and in-house lighting.
  • Responsible for leading, supporting, and developing the church’s AVL volunteer teams.
  • Work with the Worship Pastor on a weekly basis to plan, prepare, and execute the program for weekend services.
  • Provide expertise and support in the planning and implementation of AVL systems and equipment to be deployed across ministries.
  • Provide both in-person and on-call technical support for weekend services and various ministry-related events.
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all AVL equipment.
  • Seek opportunities for the deployment of efficient and cost effective AVL solutions to facilitate greater impact and for potential expansion across multiple locations.
  • Prepare and steward the church’s AVL budget with integrity and accountability.
  • Facilitate effective, open, and positive communication with elders, staff, lay leaders, and the church body.
  • Provide basic IT related support on an as needed basis.
