Position:  Director of Technology (Tech Director)

Department:  Worship Ministry

Reports to:  Worship Pastor, Minister of Worship



General Description

The Director of Technology will work under the direction of the Worship Pastor and Minister of Worship in providing technical support for all regular worship services and events (conferences, weddings, funerals, etc.)


Scope of Work

  • Oversee technical support for worship services and events
  • Recruit, train, equip and schedule volunteers for technical support in worship services and other events (conferences, weddings, funerals, etc.)
  • Meet regularly (every 4-6 months) with volunteer team for training, encouragement, and fellowship
  • Initiate communication with ministers, ministry leaders, and event coordinators in order to help facilitate technical needs
  • Coordinate with, train, and supervise any part-time paid employees in the Tech Ministry (i.e. paid Sound Engineers for worship services, Assistant Tech Director, etc.)
  • Shoot and edit video (testimonies, weekly announcement video, etc.) for worship services and events, with assistance from volunteers and/or PT paid staff
  • Maintain the streaming of Sunday morning worship services, and occasional special events
  • Edit and upload video and audio of services to the church website or other platform
  • Oversee and maintain all AVL (audio/video/lighting) equipment
  • Maintain a budget for maintenance of current AVL equipment, and future AVL technology upgrades
  • Cast vision for the use of technology in worship at Taylors FBC
  • Perform basic IT work on equipment that supports the church, as time allows
  • Attend weekly Worship Ministry staff meetings

    • Video editing software

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
