Position Title:  Pastor of Care Ministry

Reports to:  Directional Pastor

Payroll Status:  Full-time Ministry Staff

Supervises:  Support Recovery Director, Celebrate Recovery Director, Spiritual Care Director, Prayer and Restoration Director, Care Ministry support staff

  • A life dependent on the Holy Spirit and faith as demonstrated by an active prayer life

  • Trustworthy, honest and considers confidentiality a priority

The Details:

  • To serve as the pastor and leader to oversee a large and complex Care Ministry.  This person must be able to lead and shepherd others well within the ministry area
  • Function as the Ministry Area Leader to provide overall vision, leadership and shepherding to the Care Ministry Area
  • Oversee caring for and training of Ministry Staff
  • Oversee the various areas within Care Ministry – Spiritual Care, Celebrate Recovery, Support and Recovery Groups, Health Ministry, Prayer and Restoration, Professional Counselors, etc. This would include supervision over those who lead the various areas
  • Provide a limited amount of personal counseling to LBC attenders (5-10 hours weekly)
  • Provide various classes and seminars to promote emotional and spiritual health to LBC attenders
  • Fulfill other various pastoral responsibilities as needed such as funerals, weddings and general pastoral care to the people of LBC


  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in counseling (MDiv or MA) 
  • Significant experience with support recovery groups
  • Significant experience specifically with sexual addiction groups (CSAT preferred)
  • Adequate theological foundation to integrate sound theology into Care Ministry
  • Five years of experience serving in a local church, either as a staff member or lay person
  • Demonstrates leadership in a ministry context
