ABOUT THE POSITION:

 

We’re looking for a Full-Time Music Director/Student Director who will lead the Music Team (Adult) alongside the Experience Pastor, and the Student Ministry (7th-12th Graders) under the director of the Executive Pastor. This position is full-time, salaried and requires at least 40 hours a week, including Sundays and some nights. #WelcomeToMinistry

 

This is a dual role with dual responsibilities. The right candidate will be someone who has the capacity to balance the needs/duties of each role within their regular work week. 

 

You Are:

- A dedicated follower of Christ.

- A person with excellent character, similar to what’s found in 1 Timothy 3.

- A natural, team-first leader.

- Equipped with at least 2 years of experience in a healthy ministry.

- Looking to be a part of a growing church & staff team.

- Comfortable with honest communication and critique.

- A self-starter that takes initiative, is proactive and organized.

 

 

As our MUSIC DIRECTOR . . .

 

You Get to:

 

- Lead Worship most Sundays at a Weekend Gathering

- Manage Music Team Development, Scheduling, & Activities

- Setup Rehearsals & any Music Production (Tracks) for Weekend Gatherings

- Assist in developing the worship culture of Journey Church

- Collaborate in planning & execution of Weekend Gatherings

- Contribute to writing music for Journey Worship

- Assist in other staff member duties as needed.

 

 

You Need To:

 

- Have experience leading worship with groups over 300 people

- Be familiar with Ableton, Planning Center Services, and Logic X

- Have a general knowledge of music theory & the ability to write charts

- Have the ability to create solutions to take steps towards excellence

- Be comfortable working in a team context.

 

 

As our STUDENT DIRECTOR . . .

 

You Get to: 

 

- Create a holistic method/strategy for reaching our students.

- Coordinate weekly worship gatherings for Students.

- Work with Children’s Director to set long-term plan for transition into the Student Ministry.

- Manage the student ministry budget & raise other funds as needed.

- Maintain, Recruit & Develop both existing & future leaders, both adult & student.

- Assist in other staff member duties as needed.

 

 

You Need To:

 

- Have a minimum of two years experience in a healthy student ministry experience.

- Demonstrate effectiveness in personal witness with students.

- Have experience implementing an effective student ministry strategy.

- Have experience training and equipping leaders, both adult and student.
