influence, as well as local and worldwide outreach.
Through its history, the church has been known as a place where the Word of God is faithfully preached. It also has been known for its large facility, vibrant music program, and impactful children’s and youth ministries.

About the Position:
The goal of the Minister to Youth and Families is to help First Baptist Church lead people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ by overseeing the Youth Ministry (grades 7-12) of First Baptist Church and other family ministries, including overseeing
the Children’s Director and Preschool Director.
The Minister to Youth and Families will, however, primarily operate in a student pastor capacity. This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values and strategy of FBC and the ability to align staff and key leadership teams with its mission, vision and
The Minister to Youth and Families will lead all components of youth ministry, as well as provide oversight and guidance to the other departments in the Family Ministries.
What We Are Searching For / Qualifications:
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Minister to Youth and Families:
An undergraduate degree is required. A seminary degree is not required but is preferred.
The ideal candidate for the Minister to Youth and Families should have prior church ministry experience, preferably with students and will be able to lead a student ministry of 100 students plus.
- Be committed to holiness and developing personal walk with God in order to model and lead others in their faith.
- If married, love spouse as Christ loved the church. If a parent, discipline children to know God and love Him.
- Pursue professional, personal, and spiritual development.
- A strong commitment to assisting the ministries of the church in fulfilling their mission and vision.
- Energy and enthusiasm particularly around students, yet able to exude a calming influence when needed.
- Carry a posture of strength, approachability, and humility.
- Strong, demonstrated relationship with Jesus Christ, guided by a commitment to following the principles spelled out in the Bible for living a life of thankful service to God.
- A demonstrated high level of integrity, guided by a sound set of ethical principles.
- Doctrinal position that matches that of the First Baptist Church Family

Located 34 miles northeast of Tallahassee, Florida, Thomasville has a population of about 18,000 people. The city deems itself the City of Roses and holds an annual Rose Festival. The city features plantations open to the public, a historic downtown, a
large farmer's market, and a 308-year-old oak tree at the corner of Monroe and Crawford streets. The population was 19,340 at the 2013 United States Census.
In 2016, Thomasville was featured as the second best historic small town on USA Today's 10 Best Reader's Choice List.
Thomasville is home to several historic and cultural organizations, including the Thomas County Historical Society and Museum of History, Thomasville Landmarks, Inc., the Thomasville Center for the Arts, Jack Hadley's Black History Museum, and Pebble Hill
Plantation. Daily tours and research hours are available at each institution.
The Thomasville City School District holds pre-school to grade twelve, and consists of three elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. The district has 204 full-time teachers and over 3,107 students. The Thomas County School District holds
pre-school to grade twelve, and consists of three elementary schools, a middle school, and two high schools, Thomas County Central and Bishop Hall Charter School. The district has 329 full-time teachers and over 5,466 students. There are also a great selection
of private school options, including Calvary Christian School, Favor Christian Academy, Brookwood School, and Thomasville Christian School. Thomasville is home to the main campus of Thomas University and the main campus of Southern Regional Technical College.
Downtown Thomasville is a boutique-shopping hub, with a lively array of locally owned businesses along brick-lined streets, including mid-century modern antiques, record stores, colorful local personality and artisan crafts.
