Position Summary The Kids’ Ministry Director is responsible for overseeing all areas of ministry for babies through sixth grade. This includes the educational and administrative functions of kids’ ministries within the church as well as the development and
implementation of a family-focused partnership with parents to transform kids into disciples who make disciples. The Kids’ Ministry Director works under the supervision of the Executive Pastor in cooperation with the other pastors and directors. This is a
Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree (seminary degree or coursework preferable) • At least two years of experience in kids’ ministry leadership • Passion for reaching kids for Christ and helping them grow as disciples • Vibrant growing relationship with
Christ evident through attitudes and actions • Full support of the vision, values, and statement of faith of East Side Baptist Church • Competence in administrative tasks • Good written and verbal skills, with ability to speak in front of large groups • Integrity
and strong interpersonal skills in relationships with staff, children, parents, and volunteers • Proven leadership skills in working with others to achieve results • Ability to practice discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality
Essential Job Functions • Oversee regular Sunday and Wednesday on-campus ministries for kids, including Sunday School, Kids’ Worship, and Awana, and in conjunction with the Preschool Coordinator • Plan and implement strategic outreach events such as VBS • Develop
a family-focused partnership with parents to disciple their kids • Provide leadership training and encouragement for adult volunteers • Work with other pastors and directors to effectively coordinate kids’ ministries with other church ministries • Plan special
camps and retreats for kids as needed • Plan annual budget for kids’ ministry
