Job Description:

Do you believe in the divine and holy power of music? Have you felt the Spirit move through worship and fill you with the peace of Christ? Colossians 3:16 tell us: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

At Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (GSUMC), songs and praise are core to who we are as a church and we have seen first-hand how God can use that music to soften hearts, change minds, and transform lives. We have been awed to know a music ministry that has touched countless numbers of people; and we have been blest to be led by talented, humble, and beloved servants of Jesus Christ.

 

We find ourselves in a new season for our church and in a new search to find our next Director of Music Ministries. We are reaching out in faith today to see if God has placed our congregation on your heart as the place to use your gifts, your prayers, your presence, and your service. To help you discern this call, here are some important items you should know:

 

1) Because of the fact that we are a growing congregation, we are seeking a passionate, faithful, and Christ-centered leader to carry on this vital ministry of our church by developing, coordinating, and directing all GSUMC Music Ministries.

 

2) Because of our congregational size and needs, this position will also serve as our Worship Accompanist (Pianist-Organist) for the scheduled Sunday services and additional services as scheduled. The hours for this position are 15-30 hours and up to $35,000 salary based on hours and experience.

 
3) Because of the diverse needs and spiritual walks-of-life of our congregation, we discern the right fit for this position to have experience in varied church musical genres (traditional/classic, contemporary, etc.), conducting, partnering with staff to plan worship, and working with a volunteer choir.
