OVERVIEW:

The Worship/Media Arts Pastor will:

  • Organize and lead worship teams in corporate worship services on Sunday and in weekly meetings for corporate prayer.
  • Work closely with the Lead Pastor and church leadership to develop a culture of worship and praise consistent with the spiritual vision for West Ridge Church.
  • Recruit, train and mentor volunteer musicians and vocalists, training them to be Spirit-led ministers of worship and fostering their spiritual growth.
  • Develop and coordinate worship, sound and media teams as needed for various West Ridge ministries and events.
  • Keep abreast of current trends in worship, sound, and media styles and practices, selecting music and worship media to create worship programs that are spiritually enriching and dynamic.
  • Work collaboratively with sound engineers and media technicians to ensure musical production of the highest quality.
  • Demonstrate skill and understanding in the use of worship oriented technologies: sound, lighting, computer software, and video projection.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible college or seminary, or equivalent, with training in music, worship, and media arts ministry.
  • Ministerial credentials with the General Council and with a recognized district of the Assemblies of God, or a written commitment upon hire to secure credentials.
  • Proven competence and skill in the use of music, sound, and media to create an atmosphere of worship and praise in corporate worship and prayer services.
  • A history of supervised experience in music, sound and media worship ministries of various kinds.
  • Experience as a ministry leader responsible for recruiting, organizing and developing worship teams, selecting music, scheduling rehearsals and planning worship events.
  • Proven experience leading people in spiritual development through Bible study and application.
  • Ability to form friendships and communicate effectively with various age groups.
  • Strong commitment to personal discipleship.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain a positive, healthy “team spirit” and relationship with staff; recognizing and valuing each person and each role.
  • Live an exemplary personal life of spiritual devotion, with time set aside each day for Bible study and prayer.
  • Cultivate and maintain a pastoral relationship with the people of West Ridge Church, modeling servant leadership at all times.
  • Participate actively in the “body life” of West Ridge Church, seeking to develop the kind of Christian community described in Acts 2:42-47 and promoting cross-generational and multi-cultural relationships.
  • Handle administrative duties and responsibilities with diligence and integrity, paying careful attention to details and deadlines; and seeking to complete assigned tasks on time.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the Lead Pastor and Leadership Team in regard to ministry-related issues.
  • Manage finances allocated for ministry with wisdom and discretion, consistently demonstrating prudence and unimpeachable integrity.

RELATIONSHIPS:

The Worship and Media Arts Pastor will report to the Lead Pastor.  The Lead Pastor, assisted by the Leadership Team, will conduct an annual evaluation of job performance and review the level of compensation.
