Grace Church is a growing multi-site church based in Ann Arbor, MI.  Planted in 2009, Grace has grown to two campuses and over 900 worshippers each Sunday.  Grace has concrete plans to launch additional locations in 2018 and 2019. With the organizational growth, we are hiring for positions that span multiple campuses as a part of our Central Services Team.


Videographer / Tech Director


The role of the Videographer / Tech Director (V/TD) is to oversee all aspects of video production and the associated technology under the direction of the main campus Worship Pastor.  The V/TD is a full-time position, depending on the applicant’s skills, experience and responsibilities.  The V/DT will be responsible for both weekly video recording and distribution of the sermon, regular video projects (baptisms, bumper videos, etc), and provide A/V tech support across all Grace campuses.  This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values, and strategy of Grace, and the ability to manage priorities, work independently and with a team, and manage multiple concurrent projects.


1. Modeling Biblical Priorities

Responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and core values of Grace.  The V/TD should represent a growing personal relationship with Christ.  The V/TD models a strong relationship with his or her spouse (if married) and children (if applicable).  The V/TD strives to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships, and actions.  These objectives are accomplished through the three values of Grace Church:



  • Practice Spiritual Disciplines

  • Attend Sunday Gatherings


  • Participate in a Community Group

  • Serve with others on a Ministry Team


  • Share faith with friends, neighbors, and co-workers

  • Give generously to the local church


2. Providing A/V Tech Support

Responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all hardware & software related to the Sunday morning experience at all campuses

  • Prioritize & manage a yearly technology budget.

  • Design & install a full IMAG set-up at the main Ann Arbor campus.

  • Install & master software required for weekly worship at all campuses.

    • ProPresenter

    • Jands Vista (Lighting)

    • Planning Center Online (order of service & volunteer scheduling)

    • Live audio mixing experience preferred

  • Run weekly equipment checks.

  • Assist other ministries with technology needs.

  • Input weekly service content into ProPresenter.

  • Recruit & train support volunteers for video recording & editing, audio mixing, etc.


3. Video Production

In 2018, Grace will begin utilizing video in the distribution of sermon content, both as illustrations, and also as complete sermons.  The V/TD will oversee all aspects of video from recording to editing to distribution.  Video production will include:


  • Image Magnification (IMAG) - live at main Ann Arbor campus

    • Purchase hardware & software for full IMAG system

    • Run Sunday morning IMAG for main campus services

    • Create systems & best practices for Sunday IMAG volunteers

    • Install IMAG systems on additional campuses as necessary

  • Sermon recording & distribution

    • Create an excellent video broadcast experience across all campuses

    • Coordinate lights, illustrations, and slides with each speaker

    • Record & edit the weekly sermon

    • Distribute sermon recording to other campuses each week

    • Upload the weekly sermon to Grace’s website

  • Bumper/Teaser video

    • Create series specific bumper videos for Sunday services, social media, and web

  • Video projects

    • Provide resources and pre-production strategies needed for video shoots

    • Write, direct, shoot & edit quality video content

    • Communicate the heart and mission of Grace through the stories of members

    • Record baptism testimonies for baptism services at all campuses

    • Strategize creative tactics to use video to promote and send the message Grace may want to communicate to the church and the world


4. Team Supervision and Development

The V/TD will lead, evaluate and mentor new video/tech staff and volunteers and prioritize future staffing needs. Includes the following responsibilities:

  • Supervising the video/tech team in day-to-day operational activities.

  • Overseeing the training and development of the video/tech team.

  • Recruiting and empowering volunteers to deliver excellence in timeliness, quality & consistency of Sunday morning recording, editing and distributing

  • Maintaining a strong network of relevant professionals - writers, actors, producers, camera operators, etc.

  • Developing ministry partnerships with outside vendors that share Grace’s commitment to excellence.


5.  Additional Skills & Responsibilities

The ability to take on any of the responsibilities listed below will distinguish an applicant for the Videographer / Tech Director position.  Live audio experience and graphic design portfolio is not required, but strongly preferred.
