Responsible for leading all team members in the efficient and profitable operation of our Undergrounds Coffeehouse. Duties include managing the day-to-day food and beverage operations, maintaining high standards with an emphasis on hospitality and community, controlling costs of goods, inventory, and supplies. The manager will partner in staff hiring and be responsible for leadership development of staff and volunteers including training, customer service, product knowledge, education, and scheduling. Must be a champion of RLC's mission and vision.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.

  • Responsible for all areas of the food and beverage operations

  • Create and maintain menus that satisfy guests

  • Responsible for managing food costs, upholding menu standards, and controlling inventory

  • Ensure and be accountable for the profitability of Undergrounds by growing sales and controlling costs of goods, inventory levels, labor, supplies, and expenses.

  • Ensure proper staff and volunteer coverage, scheduling according to the needs of the business.

  • Able to perform all POS duties, front and back of house functions including opening and closing procedures.

  • Maintain proper loss prevention standards including safe cash handling procedures.

  • Partner with RLC Executives to identify staffing, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training needs of qualified candidates. Facilitate on-going training and development of current staff.

  • Promotes and practices safe work habits, identifying and resolving potential safety hazards, and reporting all accidents and/or incidents.

  • Responsible for overall cleaning and maintenance procedure task lists; and compliance with all health code rules and regulations

  • Effectively handle unexpected circumstances, uncomfortable situations, or distractions; and handle high-pressure situations calmly

  • Establish goals for the team and ways to achieve results; track progress, and prioritize tasks

  • Manage team on-the-floor during shifts

  • Oversee the recruiting and development of volunteer baristas, and manage a growing volunteer base
