The Youth Pastor is responsible to the Senior Pastor and the church for coordinating and promoting church youth ministry in grades 6-12 as well as developing a comprehensive educational program for youth in grades 6-12.
The Youth Pastor is responsible to the local church body through the Senior Pastor and the Deacon Board. The Youth Pastor reports directly to the Executive Pastor.
Provide direction and leadership for the youth education program of the church by coordinating and promoting Bible study, youth activities, service projects, mission trips, and family activities.
Organize and coordinate a balanced approach to youth ministry that includes Bible study, discipleship, training, outreach, recreation, fellowship, mission action, and music.
Attend and participate in youth camp in the summer.
Facilitate our church wide mission of equipping families to bring up generations that love and live for Jesus Christ by centering on Deuteronomy 6 in the youth ministry.
Plan and direct all activities such as youth camp, mission trips, retreats, weekday Bible study, Youth Emphasis Sunday, seminars, banquets, and other special events.
Have a working knowledge and some capacities of IT, including website maintenance.
Develop a systematic program of outreach.
Prepare and administer the youth budget.
Be available nights and weekends (as needed) for youth ministry events, as well as be available to make emergency Pastoral care visits as needed.
Serve as youth representative for church committees as assigned by the Pastor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requires a high school diploma and a 4 year degree, with an emphasis in Bible / Theology.
Requires a testimony of Godly character that is clearly evident (I Timothy 3:1-7 ; Titus 1:5-9 qualifications of a Pastor).
Requires the passing of a criminal background check.
This individual must be “apt to teach” and gifted in publicly communicating God’s Word to youth as well as in a large church setting.
Approx $40K / yr + insurance stipend + 3% IRA match
