About the Organization:

Founded in 1999, Ecclesia serves the city of Houston and engages global issues of poverty, injustice, and water accessibility. Over the years, the church has progressively moved from its space on Taft Street in the Montrose area, to its permanent home on Elder Street near downtown. With an average attendance of 2,400-2,500 people, the core of the Ecclesia ministry is uniquely missional. 

“Ecclesia” (ekklesía) is a Greek word found in the scriptures meaning “church.” Ecclesia Houston is a Christian community who together are learning how to live as the church. Its hope and desire is to reflect, learn from, and serve the city they call home as the love of Jesus, the liberating King, is shared throughout its community.

About the Position:

The mission of this position is to serve in a supporting staff role to the Lead Pastor in his diverse work serving Ecclesia, the broader culture, and the entire church. This position also provides the opportunity to lead in and invite the church into ongoing ministry projects both locally and globally. This role assists the Lead Pastor in both personal and ministerial ways by increasing his effectiveness through organization and added efficiency. While the Lead Pastor operates in various channels - writing, speaking, teaching, and providing leadership to multiple organizations - much is required to administrate each of these initiatives.

A key role of the Executive Assistant will be managing the details of the Lead Pastor’s role internally to create room for him to effectively operate externally and internally in the things that he alone can and should do.


What We Are Searching For / Qualifications:

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Executive Assistant:


A bachelor’s degree is required. 


The ideal candidate will likely have proven experience working as an executive assistant at a C-Level position (CEO, etc.). In addition, a “fit” with the culture and theology of Ecclesia is essential.
