About the Organization:
Eastern Hills Community Church (EHCC) began in the early 1980s with a group of people who had vision to create a ministry in the southeast Aurora area. After worshiping in a variety of temporary settings, the church moved into their own building in 1989,
and ten years later, opened an addition to that facility. In July of 2008, they moved into their present building, a facility consisting of 70,000 square feet.
Phil EuBank, the current Lead Pastor, came to EHCC in March 2016. Since that time the church has gone through changes of vision and mission and has had a new awakening of their outward focus on their community. The call to care about people who are close
to you and far from God has saturated the church’s culture. The church’s values of reaching out, growing deep, and partnering with families are found throughout the various ministries of the church.
Eastern Hills is part of the Christian Reformed Church of North America, but in many ways is “out of the box” from the standard CRC church. Although reformed in theology, the church is very innovative in methodology and driven by missions. Eastern Hills
is also a North Point Strategic Partner. The music is modern, the teaching is topical and relevant, and the weekend services are outward focused—with an intentional desire to reach the 92% unchurched population surrounding the church.

About the Position:
The Family Pastor at Eastern Hills Community Church will primarily equip and lead the entire Family Ministry, as a member of the Directional Leadership Team. This position focuses on the leadership, vision and staff development from Birth - 12th grade.
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in both the student and children’s ministry spaces and be comfortable, at times, being the outward facing person for the Student Ministry and Children’s Ministry. They will be relationally driven, as most
of the Family Ministries are heavily driven by relationships and connections within large group environments, small groups, volunteer teams, and the church family as a whole.
What We Are Searching For / Qualifications:
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Family Pastor:
An undergraduate degree in a related field is preferred, with some ministry education being ideal. A seminary degree or formal theological training is not required.
3-5 years of large church experience is required, with the candidate having worked in churches of 1,000 members or more. Prior experience as a kids, students, or family pastor is required
The ideal candidate for the Family Pastor at Eastern Hills Community Church will:
- Be an approachable, faithful leader.
- Be an available leader who is both present physically in the office and present relationally.
- They will be relationally and missionally driven.
- They will have a heart for families and students, particularly youth and younger students.
- Have a hunger to see transformational change in children, students, and families.
- They will be outreach-oriented.
- They will have a chemistry and theology that fits with Eastern Hills Community Church.
- They will be a team player that can work easily with many different staff members from different perspectives and backgrounds. They will easily connect with people, on staff or not.
