Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead and organize effective youth curriculum, youth worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and leadership for all ages of youth ministry. Would oversee volunteer team. Approximate ministry of 250 children weekly.
  • Responsible for all youth small groups, youth outreach, and mission opportunities
  • Recruit, train and provide leadership to classroom teachers/assistants and youth volunteers
  • Provide pastoral care to youth on an individual basis as needed
  • Oversee and identify youth with leadership potential and assure opportunities are given to them for development. (Provide formal and informal leadership training to the youth/teens)
  • Maintain contact with students and parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities. Keep parents updated on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement
  • Create social media campaigns and videos promoting the children’s ministry and its events
  • Responsible for the development and oversight of the youth ministry budget
  • Seek to integrate youth ministry into all phases of church volunteer culture (Dream Team) to create a heart to serve and impact the community
  • Ensure vision of the church is being implemented in youth ministry

  • Capable of creating and executing long term vision for the children’s ministry
  • Passion for children and outreach, personable and relatable to both students and parents
  • Sensitive to needs and pressures of children and teens with a knowledge of possible solutions
  • Self- motivated leader with organizational and administrative abilities
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Must be willing to learn new programs as needed
  • Effective pastoral leadership
  • Develop message content to preach or teach as needed
  • Committed to Word of Life core values
  • Associates Degree



Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Social media and multi-media production skills
  • Experience in managing volunteers
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands on student ministry experience
