Geyer Springs First Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Lead Student Pastor. The church is located in the greater Little Rock metro area, 2 miles away from the fastest growing county in Arkansas. We desire a RELATIONAL LEADER to serve both the hundreds
of students in our ministry, their volunteers, and their families.
LEAD STUDENT PASTOR WOULD BE ASKED TO...
Develop a ministry-wide discipleship strategy that leads students to Live for God, Love Others, and Reach the Nations (GSFBC Vision) through the practices of Corporate Worship, Small Groups, Serving, and Making Disciples (GSFBC 4 Priorities).
Coordinate, plan, promote, implement, and evaluate all areas of the student ministry in order to fulfill the vision of making disciples who make disciples. Vision and leadership will encompass all programming and activities, including but not limited to: discipleship
path growth and development; Home Groups; Sunday School; DGroups; Mission Trips; Student Worship; Camps; Retreats and Special Events; and Pastoral Care.
Consult with the Family Discipleship Pastor to: recruit, train, and equip teachers and ministry volunteers; select curricula; identify supply and facility needs; and plan special emphases for promotion and outreach in the Student Ministry.
Partner with the Family Discipleship Pastor in ministering to families through Geyer Family initiatives. Develop a Student Ministry philosophy that partners with parents to equip and assist them in the spiritual training of their students by providing resources,
education, and training events. Meet with parents as needed, or requested, to give biblical counsel and encouragement with issues they may be facing.
Lead students to develop a missional lifestyle by engaging their community – individually, corporately, and with families – through community service and outreach events in both the student ministry and the Geyer Springs church body.
Develop Home Groups and DGroups for deeper biblical community and discipleship among GSFBC students and adults.
Manage and administer all budgets associated with Student Ministry and communicate financial needs of the Student Ministry to the Executive Pastor on a timely basis for consideration in the church budget.
Stay informed on Student Ministry methods, programs, and administration by attending conferences and conventions, continued professional development in cooperation with the Lead Pastor.
Supervise and direct any and all Student Ministry Associates, Assistants, and Interns as required.
Evaluate and recommend changes to policies and procedures (Safe Environment Committee Policies and Procedures Handbook) to ensure highest level of safety and security for students and adult workers.
Perform ministerial duties as needed and assigned as part of GSFBC Ministerial staff. Ensure ministerial and pastoral care needs are met in the Student Ministry with students, families, leaders, and volunteers.
- A growing and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Commitment to serve Jesus Christ and the mission of GSFBC.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3 years experience as Lead Student Pastor in church averaging at least 750 in weekly attendance.
- Proven skills in the area of: administration, interpersonal relationships (staff and members), and leading leaders.
- Gifted communicator in teaching, casting vision, and exhorting people toward a Gospel-centered lifestyle.
- Seminary Degree, with experience in Student Ministry.
- 5 years experience as Lead Student Pastor in church averaging at least 750 in weekly attendance.
