Job Description:

Woodland Community Church—a dynamic, rural ministry in the Northwoods of Wisconsin—seeks a (male) associate pastor to lead its youth, direct its youth ministries and serve as pastor to its children and their families.



  • Can articulate the Gospel and has a clear testimony of trusting and continuing to follow Christ
  • Fulfills the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3.1-7 and Titus 1.6-9
  • Delights in God’s Word and demonstrates a willingness to grow in the study and personal application of God’s Word (some formal Bible training not necessary, but desirable)
  • Possesses love for youth and children, commitment to youth and children’s ministry and a strong desire to see children, youth and their parents know and follow Jesus
  • Agrees with and is willing to abide by both the Woodland Statement of Faith and the church’s constitution and bylaws
  • Seeks to grow and be accountable through small group ministry and other disciple-making relationships
  • Possesses strong relational skills in interacting with youth, children and their families
  • Can provide documentable experience in leading and discipling youth
  • Willingness to be discipled himself and to grow as a pastor
  • Married or single




  • Reports to the senior pastor with whom he communicates regularly
  • Works closely with the Youth Ministry Team
  • Supports and serves as resource for directors of multiple children’s ministries
  • Coordinates with a staff secretary
  • Meets with the elder board and would eventually serve as a member of the eldership 
  • Relates well to families in the Rib Lake-Westboro communities and seeks to understand the full range of home-life experiences of its youth and children




  • Maintains regular hours (45-55 hours weekly) that include office time and field work
  • Leads quarterly meetings of the Youth Ministry Team, communicates regularly with its members and directs programming for youth
  • Leads quarterly meetings of the Children’s Ministry Team and serves as pastor and resource to its program directors
  • Organizes Wednesday evening programs for Jr. and Sr. high students
  • Organizes and teaches Sunday morning classes for youth
  • Explores his giftedness through occasional preaching, congregational care and other ministries, as encouraged by the senior pastor
  • Disciples students one-on-one and in small group settings
  • Would consider growing his ministry into other areas, depending on his skills, interest and giftedness
  • Casts vision for the Genesis Youth Center in Rib Lake and leads the congregation in developing the GYC as a ministry site


Compensation: around 40k and commensurate with the starting rate of teachers in the Rib Lake School District
