Job Description:

Bethel seeks an innovative and visionary full-time pastor who will oversee all aspects of the Children, Youth, & Family Ministries (CYFM). The ideal candidate will exercise initiative and sound judgment as one who can assess the current position of the ministry, internal and external ministry resources, and the needs of children and youth while delivering high-quality, engaging, and responsive programming.


The Children, Youth, & Family Pastor will serve as an inspiring preacher and teacher and as a vital bridge between the church, children, youth, and families. This individual will provide pastoral direction for children and youth as they mature and develop their own relationships with Jesus Christ (i.e. becoming disciples of Christ). The ideal candidate will be expected to minister to parents/caregivers, equipping them to support the spiritual, emotional, and physical development of their children.


The CYFM Pastor should maintain a love for and personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ through personal spiritual disciplines and practices. S/he would have a clear knowledge of one’s own spiritual and natural gifts as evident in a Godly call to pastoral ministry along with a desire to work with parents/caregivers and other adults both in and outside the church along with a commitment to the ministry vision and programs of the church.


This position will require the balance of pastoral support with organizational and leadership skills. The Children, Youth, & Family Pastor must manage all aspects of programming, including volunteers and other programmatic resources. The Children, Youth, & Family Pastor will work closely with a liaison from the Steward Board and a senior member of the ministerial staff to ensure that the ministry is successful and running financially sustainable programs that are regularly assessed for effectiveness and positioned for improvement and growth.

Salary is commensurate with training and experience and includes benefits (medical, dental, and 403b) and 10 days of paid time off in the first year. ?
